Becoming a Newton Volunteer
Taken by Al earlier at the run. I decided to officially help out as a Newton Running Club volunteer last week after giving it some thought.
I started running cause I wanted to lose weight back in 2008, and later continued cause I wanted to eat. I'm still not that huge a fan of running but I wanted to do more than just use it to my own personal gains. So when the opportunity to become a AHM pacer came up, I took it, it was an opportunity to help others achieve whatever goals they seek during AHM, be it to set a new PB, or just plain finish a half marathon...maybe in a way, not being in the service line has made me miss it...of course, shoes were provided and they were definitely a plus.
When the opportunity to become a volunteer came up, I figured what the heck, I didn't want to continue pacing cause I didn't want to burn my weekends, but I thought if the opportunity came to continue being able to help out in some way or another, might as well try right? Plus since I'm there almost every Wednesday, why not?
Thanks to the Colin, Al, Calvin, and the rest of the Newton runners for the support too. =)
The shirt looks damn bright though, I feel like a banana.

If you are still not a huge fan of running, no one else is already lor.
Haha,I think I rationalize it as I'm an even larger fan of eating which results in the excessive running. =P
