LMFAO - Sorry for Partyrocking (R3hab Remix)
Heard it for the first time today, this is actually pretty nice. I thought the original was so so only.

Love Never Felt So Good - MJ (1983 Original)
Found the original track which was initially intended to be a demo, Michael is strong enough to hold the single on his own without JT, really good vocals!

Michael Jackson (feat Justin Timberlake) - Love Never Felt So Good
I generally don't like big companies cashing in big bucks on dead celebrities, I understand its business but some times it doesn't put the celebrity in good light.
That said, this MTV I thought was a good tribute to one of my favorite singers of all time. I grew up listening to him and even watching the Jackson 5 movie, so he was definitely an inspiration to me regardless of what the tabloids put him out to be.

Ed Sheeran - Sing
Been listening to this on and off on my phone recently, it's a very catchy song and the first time I heard it I almost thought it was a Justin Timberlake single, then again the singer did say his single is inspired by Justin's style so yeah, heck Justin could sing the song and probably make it his just as much.

Malaysia Chabor
This song has been popping up on Facebook for a couple of days now but I never got down to seeing what the fuss is about. My initially guess it just another pretty face to grace the screen which is probably catching the attention of a lot of guys.
Right into the video though, the first thing that caught my eye was that the song was composed and written by NAMWEE! Steady la.
Overall I can see why the video can garner so many likes, not just cause the singer is pretty (She's 17 though I wouldn't have guessed it), but the video was well put together and the lyrics, though cheesy, were witty and fun, rather cute on the whole.
EDIT: Just found out she has her own YouTube channel and after one minute into the video below...eh...I prefer the MTV above...but hey some guys like yeah?

TED Talk - Mark Ronson: How Sampling Transformed Music
I shared this on Facebook awhile back, but figured I'd put it here as well for keeps to refer to in future.
One of my favorite TED talks, featuring Mark Ronson. I haven't heard a lot of his mixes but there are a few which I have that I like, including my first favorite from him "Ooh Wee" which goes all the way back to 2003.

Faraway - Jay Chou feat Fei Yu Ching
I'm not much of a Chinese music listener, most of my friends who know me know that I'm more into R&B and Hip Hop, but here's a song I quite like which I was introduced to during my NS days.
I think what makes this song really nice isn't just the tune, but what my friend shared with me that caught my attention.
The music is rather flawed, especially in terms of Jay's choice to team up with Fei Yu Ching. When you normally do a duet, you team up with someone of your similar vocal calibre, but with Faraway, Jay chooses Yu Ching to do the duet, a guy whose vocals are way stronger than Jay. You can definitely see it during the chorus when Fei sings it with ease and Jay struggles to keep up with Fei's vocals.
Normally such a move would be considered musical suicide for the artist's career, but for Jay Chou it seems like he was also seen as daring, to actually try and team up with artists way better vocally than he was while others would just shun the idea completely. For that reason, I respect him for having the guts to do what he did.
So apparently my mum came into my room when she heard me playing Chinese music, and upon me sharing my thoughts on his duet with Fei, she shared me this video of his duet with China's prominent singer Song Zuying.
It's like seeing man trying to duet with a vocal goddess. Mind blown.

"Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film" By Jay-Z
I had a brief conversation with Adrian and his partner Ryan during the Jada Art celebration dinner on Wednesday about their trip to the Miami Art Basel and Jay Z's name got brought up (along with other celebrities who collect art and/or think they collect art).
It was quite interesting to find out one of my favorite rappers is a huge art collector, especially with Basquiat which quite frankly, given my less than 1% knowledge I know of the art world, I had not known about.
I later found out that Jay Z had apparently done a "performance art" not too long ago and decided to check it out.
As much as I love Jay Z, I didn't think this was art at all. Sure it had a mish mash of well known people and artists come to support and "play" with him, but quite frankly it felt more like an extended hip hop MTV...pretty sure some of the personalities out there having fun on stage with Jay Z didn't really have a clue about the lyrics.

The lyrics were very mainstream, with a lot of bragging rights that went into the lines, not much deep lyrics like you'd get from songs such as "Where have you been", "This Can't Be Life" or "Hard Knock Life"
I guess the only thing I can say about the so called performance art above is that it has a lot of positive energy, but I wouldn't be too quick to call it art though.

Lorde - Royal
Heard this awhile back when Samsung first used it in their commercial featuring Messi using a Galaxy Note 3. Later managed to learn more about the song, and finally caught the original on radio the other day...really good!

Econ Rice
Left my earphones at home, wasn't keen on going far without them. You can say they are the only times they allow me to become somewhat "antisocial", to block the world and just focus on the music at hand.
No music = no opportunity to zone out. Hurriedly ate and went back to the office.

The Tony Rich Project - Nobody Knows
I don't know much about him, think this were just a one hit wonder, but I still love that one song that played on the air.

One of my favorite songs from the Robin Thicke I'm more familiar with from as back as 2007.

"Funny you're the broken one but i'm the only one who needed saving
Cause when you never see the lights it's hard to know which one of us is caving"
Al posted the song a long time back on his blog and back then it wasn't significant to me, but when it played in the car earlier, it suddenly struck hard.
Heading back to bed to rest.
