SaturDate (Caching, Running, Climbing and Eating)

Talk about a Saturday well spent!

Mornings was spent back at Punggol again, this time with Colin, Al, and Hannee, heading to Coney Island once more, but exploring caches along the way.

We had 3 points to cover but only 2 had caches available, one seem to be lost by the time we got there.

Caching also meant heading to parts of the island I didn't get to go the last time round I went running, taking the more scenic beach route along the way.

I think one of the coolest caches was a spider which we came across, that took FOREVER to find. We were almost about to give up until Al gave a suggestion which got us to the spot necessary to locate the item, thank goodness!

Caching was then followed by rock climbing in the afternoon, Al and I crashed a climb session with Colin, M & S at Climb Central.

I'm still afraid of heights as I've come to realised, but managed to persist on and did a few climbs, much to my relief!

The day ended with dinner at Sacha and Sons, an american style deli serving up some really awesome sandwiches and sides.

Talk about being well fed, phew!

All in all an awesome Saturday spent, was so tired by the end of the day but looking back, it was worth it. =)

Band Night & Getting Locked Out

So on Boxing Day, the Tier met up for Star Wars TFA again, this time with Alron joining us and finally getting to catch the movie.

The day ended off with game night at Saint Games.

Fun as it was, we ended pretty late, around 2+, and by the time I got to the car, I realised Park Mall apparently closes their carpark at 2am!

Stranded, I found myself at Starbuck at Plaza Singapura, joining a few sleepless Singaporeans chilling with drinks and my laptop. Later on went to try my hand at Geocaching nearby but had no luck, did managed a nice panorama photo of the amphitheater at Dhoby Ghaut Green though.

Ended off the day with prata at Mr and Mrs Mohgan's in the east which was recommended by Colin, honestly one of the best I've had, shiok!

So Boxing Day turned out fruitful. =)

Tier 0 KL Getaway 2015

It's always a yearly ritual, and I'm glad that after a long wait, it's finally back!

Though not a star location, KL has always been a good brainless short getaway to go munch on food and get fat along the way (I gained 2kg from this trip!)

There really isn't much to blog about since it's a yearly trip, so I'm just gonna post photos of the food had during the trip there. Rest of the photos are up on Facebook of course. =)

Ah Hoe Mee Pok

Finally had the opportunity to try out Ah Hoe Mee Pok at Clementi even though I worked around the area for a few years now. Thanks to the recent slew of blog posts by well known bloggers, the queue here is pretty massive, I waited a total of 1 hour to get to my turn!

Overall verdict though, the food is good, if you are big on vinegar however, you may want to request for more because that isn't the key focus to the flavor here.

Texture from the noodles is great, and so is the soup at the end.

Love it but for the queuing time, I don't think I'll come that often considering I'm not a huge meepok fan.

If you are however, you need to go!

3rd Congregation Dinner @ Redemption Hill Church

Timothy's cell group was in charge of this evening's congregation dinner and the theme was American food, so Titus, with the help of the team, made a Hotdog special for everyone to try which was really awesome.

Got to hand it to the cell group for the effort put into making this a reality, the food was really good!

For the uninformed, I've recently started going to Church again after realizing I do not know enough and easily jump into conclusions about the religion when there are certainly loads of misconceptions I've come to have about Christianity.

I'm also slowly reading Buddhism thanks to Colin for sharing me an eBook on the faith.

Not reading to pick a faith per say, rather to further understand both religions on a whole and see if it can apply to my life be it religiously or not.

That said while I'm slowly getting to know the members of the church, I have to constantly remind myself that I should not be in it for the social aspects. It's a reminder I tell myself every week, but nonetheless they are a decent bunch of people and I'm glad getting to know them.

On the Steamer

I don't key in to MFP as much as I use to these days, but whenever I cook, I make it a habit to record.

No carbs today, had fish, shrimp, and scallops as the mains, the vegetables to fill everything up, and washed it down with miso soup.

Happy. =)

Dinner @ iO Italian Osteria @ Hillv2

Caught up with Adrian, Eve, and Jasmine over dinner on Thursday at iO in Hillv2. I've never eaten at this mall despite it being close to home, and was surprised that they even knew this place.

Honestly though, the food was fantastic, especially the appetizers! Bread, bread, and more bread!

Would highly recommend giving this place a try, I'm sure to want and come back here again some day.
