Looks like the bastard child of a Harley Davidson, Vespa, and Electric Kick Scooter.

Expressway Familiarisation

Took the expressway familiarisation course which was the last before I could get the 2B license. Rained heavily and a bunch of us got stranded for quite a bit, I was soaking wet! Thankfully I was near home and went back to change into fresh clothes to prevent falling sick.

Passed 2B

The first attempt was screwed up thanks to a stupid mistake, didn't help that I had a lot on my mind but I'm really glad to have passed.

Highway familiarisation at 1:30pm later. Thankfully I did most of my work preparation yesterday evening.

Nasi Padang

Ate late after bike lessons, auntie near the office makes a good ayam lemak but I still think the one at Jurong Camp during my NSF days was the spiciest (and most fattening).

Butterfly Trailing - Bike Out!

Went bike trailing today, we only did a simple 6km though but it was definitely fun, I forgot how much I enjoyed this!

Despite being careful, I found myself nose diving 1 km into the trail, the bike hit a rock and I got flung forward, and as though that wasn't enough, my shin got caught between my pedal, which sent the bike flying over me and my seat post smacking onto my helmet (thank goodness).

Was only left with external bruises which was fine, glad to have gotten away with it.

The last shot was taken using my DSLR at f2.2, there was an abandoned cheap flimsy tripod at the back of my car left from dunno which yo-yo contest over a year ago, at least it did the job la, love the photo. =)

IFmove - Foldable Bicycle

Probably the nicest looking foldable bicycle I've seen so far. I wouldn't say I'm in love with it, but it's the most minimalistic I've see in production model.

EDIT: Just learnt about its price tag in Singapore...$2,499!!!!

No Trail No Thrills - Ketam

I was expecting to find myself missing Saturday's bike outing cause I figured we usually booked out on Saturday during reservist, but as it was out prep phase, there wasn't much to do in camp, and hence we were let off on Friday...which only meant one thing for me...MUDSURF!

So Saturday I packed my stuff and found myself at Changi Ferry Terminal with the rest of the NTNT crew on our way to Ubin for a morning of trail riding!

Did I mention? We bumped into the Peirce Reservoir Runners Adrian, Ling, Faith and Fon Beehoon, what a pleasant surprise! They had just completed their run and we were just about to get started. Ah Siao was around too but had apparently made off first hence we didn't get to see him. =)

We did one round rather slowly, but it was prolly cause we were just getting warmed up. See broke his derailleur and was out after the first round, damn, better luck next time I guess.

Managed to get really up close with one of these fellas for photo taking...did I mentioned I get creeped out by spiders? Surprisingly I'm fine with the jumping variants.

We stopped for drinks before Andy, Brandon, Colin and I went for a second round, this time a lot faster than the first cause we were getting familiar with the route.

Before we knew it, it was nearing 12, and everyone was damn hungry after such an intensive workout...nearly 10km of off road and another 6km on road.

We grabbed one photo at the usual spot before sending the bikes for a quick rinse and calling it a day.

Not much mud surfing this time round, everything was dry and hard, there wasn't much to wash. Still, it was an awesome session and I can't wait for the next!

Ubinned

Did two rounds at the Diamond trails...tired but happy!

Honda Ruckus

Absolutely gorgeous!!!

I believe there is a variation of this scooter available in Singapore, but not the larger version. The Ruckus is generally a small scooter though, so the smaller brother looks almost like a moped.

It's only when the modifications come in does this bike stand out even more than it already does though!

Too bad you can't do them like that in Singapore...but wow, am loving the lowrider feel of this scooter.

Check out the second video that has an air suspension read setup, wow!

Surfs Up - November Bike Ride

It's been hanging for a long time now and finally, after much discussion, we finally managed to hook up for a bike ride in November.

I looked back and realised I had indeed been on trail some time in June, but that was with Winston, Chee Ho, Elvin and his girlfriend. (Link)

Our trail of choice after the hiatus? Bukit Timah! Personally this is the second toughest track in Singapore, the first being Ubin...so it's technically not located IN Singapore...but you know what I mean.

I think it was my first time doing two rounds in Bukit Timah...I realised going for a second round is just a mental barrier...it wasn't that hard, and easier than the first lap.

The rain the night before helped make the ride more interesting, though I think most of us would have welcomed rain in the midst of the ride to make things 10 times more fun!

I had accidentally turned my Runkeeper off midway and hence didn't get proper records...we totaled about 12km today, 2 rounds in about 2 hr 45min or so...slower than running a trail...but the thing about Bukit Timah is that it's really about technique, not strength...an I obviously lacked technique in getting pass some of the harder portions of the route.

Our main objective of riding wasn't just about the thrill of the ride though, when it comes to Bukit Timah, it was the thrill of the after-ride special that made it fun as well...makan time at Al Azhar!

Murtabak was the first order of the day, followed by Naans and butter chicken! I would've ordered palak paneer but I don't think it was a popular choice with the riders, in face Andy was so obsessed with butter chicken, we ordered a total of 4 servings!!!

Overall Sunday morning was well spent...we chionged the hills, had a good meal, I spent the next half an hour washing my bicycle which was admittedly very therapeutic...

Great ride, looking forward to more rides to come!
