Singtel and Starhub to Lower Data Cap

From 12gb to 2gb for the lowest Singtel 3G plan? 3gb for the value plan?

Don't liddat leh....=(

Just checked my phone, I'm already at 3.9gb, most of which are from auto uploading of photos I take directly to Dropbox and Google+.

This is most certainly going to affect iPhone users who also have their images sent up to iCloud as well.

Sure we can set our phones to upload only when wifi is connected..but still...I'd rather let my uploads be seamless rather than have to wait till I get wifi before anything gets sent.

The photo stream doesn't work with 3G and it only activates when in WIFI.

Still, this is cacat news.

I think for you it might be a hassle cause you're also pairing your data with your iPad right?

Am hoping with the amount of complaints coming in, Singtel might change their minds...but I doubt it'll happen.

wow your data usage is quite hardcore sia!

since the start of this year, I've only used 8.5gb in total =P
as for iCloud, i think it only syncs when connected to Wifi

The iCloud data syncing is actually very minimal since only involves low data changes to address book and calendars.

Think most usage came from emails and web surfing.

Yeah data sync doesn't take much, it's just a bunch of instructions set via cloud to make changes.

It's my photo syncing that eats a lot, I can set it to wifi-upload only to bring the data down I guess...is do-able just that I didn't expect to have to do it so soon! lol

It's a matter of time before the phone companies lowered the data cap anyway...might as well be now.
