Frying and Fat Intake

While eating breakfast when I suddenly thought to myself "If I fried my french toast in a single slice of butter, while I order butter kaya toast which say comes with 2 slices of butter, which is fattier?"

Quick online search (Link) shows that frying doesn't magically increase the amount of calories in your meal...although yes, frying does mean more oil is absorbed into your food than say, pan frying or steaming, hence that's how the calorie increase comes from.

Noticed that my french toast at Yakun seldom leaves oily stains on my plate after eating, even when touching it, there wasn't much oil at my finger tips, am interested to see how much oil is used during frying the next time I eat there.

But of course, other health concerns apart from fat do derive from frying (charred carbon intake for example) so this still means in the long run, frying isn't better than steaming for example.
