Prawn Fisheries, the last place I thought I'd find myself

I havent been to a prawn fishery in ages, and in the past few weeks, I've been to one, twice. I think the last time I went prawn-fishing was way back in Secondary school at the one near the Bird Park.
Apparently the one at Pasir Ris was pretty hype, so when Jan and Jill invited some of the guys to come by and check it out, I tagged along.
Besides Prawn-Fishing, the place also had regular fishing activities, something which I also havent done since Primary school when I was in Langkawi trying out those fishing reels at the jetty.
Apparently one of Jan's friends, James, has been fishing for a couple of years now, and that night he had a huge catch, a 4KG fish which was going straight to the dinner table that night. =)
One of the things I like about the place is the food they serve up, good, and fairly reasonable! But of course, you have to put into account that the prawn-fishery charges quite a bit when you fish at their catchment area, so it's not exactly all low budget and what not.
Some of the dishes worth eating is their Claypot Chicken which comes with a really good sauce that mixes really well with your rice. Their vegetables are really good too, but then again I've always been quite ok with any vegetable sauteed with garlic. lol
One of the main highlights, well...duh, was the prawns! Cooked in two styles by the chef, one your typical Garlic steamed prawns, the other, salted egg yolk prawns, fried like butter or cereal prawns, and then heavily sauced with salted mashed egg yolks and gravy, this dish is DOPE!
Another thing I really like a lot, which this place does pretty well, is their Pork Satay. They stick lard in between the pieces of meat so when you cook it, it crisps up, making each bite damn crunchy and flavorful. =)
Of course the main star to hit the table that night was the fish that James had caught. Apparently it was really too big for us so the chef had halved it and return the head portion to James to bring home, and then deep-fried and then sauteed the remaining fish in black sauce, onions, ginger, garlic...the works.
The meal ended with grapes and strawberries which Jill and her friend had gotten from the coldstorage at White Sands just across the road (yep, it's that near Pasir Ris MRT), it's been awhile since I had grapes, back home I'd normally open the fridge, pluck a few, and head to my room to watch a show on my computer and chow them one by one to kill time...love them =)
Dinner was great, wished Xinn was there but she was running a fever =( Some other time then, thanks guys for dinner, it was great!
