Just helped drop off a bunch of clothes at the LBC Warehouse in aid of the typhoon in the Philippines. The bags consisted of clothing donated by various NB runners who wanted to contribute to the cause.
I understand that the Philippine Embassy is seizing collecting of clothes due to lack of logistics, but that doesn't mean the country doesn't need it. So its up to the companies that are professionals in logistics, like LBC Cargo and Courier to take it over from here.
Along with clothes, other items included water and dried snacks. It's purely voluntary and when I got there, people were hard at work sorting and packing...the entire level one was taken up...wow! As I'm leaving, cars are still coming in with stuff!
I wished I could stay and help but I got something on at 7:45. Really amazing feat these people.
