Brooks Run Happy & Run For Hope 2013 - Back 2 Back Running

One heck of a weekend! As though one running event wasn't enough, I took part in two, one on Saturday evening, and another on Sunday morning...yikes!

Brooks Run Happy 2013

Brooks Run Happy was an event I missed last year, but decided to join Colin, Al and Calvin this year to partake in the fun.

The run itself was alright, a route almost similar to the POSB Run last year. It was the after party that was supposedly special, with free flow (non-alcoholic) beer and snacks provided after the 9km race.

There was even a DJ in the house and although the music was pretty happening, I think a lot of runners were either tired, or unsure whether to step forward near the stage to dance...of course, we hung at the back and just enjoy chilling and people watching.

The evening ended with us heading to Satay Club for some grub...with wings, satay, and beer as the main priority. My alcohol threshold is terrible, as usual. I could barely make it pass one glass, but it was boys night out, so hey, drink a little yeah?

Overall the Brooks Run Happy event was a pretty decent party, and the company as usual was awesome. By the time we were done, it was 11:30pm, long evening, but a fruitful one.

Run For Hope 2013

Taking part in Run For Hope 2013 came as a last minute decision when Eunice informed me of the lack of participants for this race. In light of the situation, I decided to ask around if other runners were interested to make this a fun-run in aid of cancer research. So after a few signups, we decided to meet in the morning and do a group run together along the 10km route...which was essentially the same path as Brooks last evening.

Since I managed to run with my 450D during the Sandura Run earlier this year, I decided to do the same with my EM1, and ran along with it to take pictures of the group along the way.

The group started together but slowly split up, with Neo and Adrian leading the front, Shu Fei, May, and Sherdyn taking the middle, and Chua, Eve, Jasmine, and Ah San guarding the back.

Another pleasant surprise was bumping into Hatta and Eveline, one a BMT bunk mate, another a UNLV school mate who both happened to work in the same hotel now. It was a great small chit chat and photo session before heading back to meet with the rest.

Overall, both runs were very enjoyable, I would say the weather hasn't been good, but neither has it been bad at all. It was cooling during both runs and the company was definitely worth it.

It's almost 4pm now, I'm tired, might get some shut eye in a bit.
