Birthday Dinner for Mom and Pop

I think it's pretty cool that both Mum and Dad share the same birth date, just one year apart form each other. Last year was Dad's 60th, and this year would be Mum's.

So in celebration, the entire family headed out to The Magic of Chong Qing Hot Pot for dinner at our family's go-to steamboat place at Tanglin.

I didn't take much photos of the food this time round since they were all piled up at the tray area. It was the usual mix of three-layer pork, sliced chicken and fish, fish paste, meatballs, sotong balls, wontons, mushrooms, quail eggs, luncheon mean, gizzard and vegetables.

Instead of the usual cake we would usually get for the celebration, Junyan's girlfriend Shan got cupcakes from Twelve Cupcakes which were easier to consume and had more variety, I think the parents were pretty happy with the decision. =)

It's been awhile since we had a good family sit down dinner, it was good catching up with the family over piping hot soup. =)

Happy Birthday Mum and Dad.
