A Day @ JB

Headed to JB over the weekend with Colin and Babe for lunch n dinner. Gary had some new dishes at Grill Bar and Al had recommended a Cze Char place called Teck Sing which we should try out as well.

The meal at GB was nice, as usual! Apart from the steak and dessert, the new items we tried included the flowered onion and lobster bisque. Lobster Bisque is always a favorite so this hit the spot, fantastic! The flowered onion was good, I liked it though I still preferred the one at Black Angus which was larger and came with a special dip made at the restaurant.

Dinner at Teck Sing was great too! I loved the paper baked chicken though I wished it had more gravy, it's not as soupy as the one at Restoran Hiang Kee which was just down the street where the Butter Crayfish was sold, but I think the one at Hiang Kee is more towards the emperor style chicken.

The Drunken Prawns were nothing worth mentioning actually, it felt very light, a little too light, to the extend where they might as well not put any alcohol in it cause I think it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Overall thought it was a good dining experience and a good recommendation!

Additional Things

On top of just eating, we went for a massage near Grill Bar. All three of us went for Thai and it was fantastic, but it was also my first time experiencing having a masseuse ask if I wanted a happy ending...like...what? It's quite an awkward experience but thankfully it was offered only nearing the end of the massage, it was a good massage by the way, very professional and worth paying for, and no, I did not take the offer and turned it down immediately, but boy those last few minites was awkward, am not sure if I'd like to go back there again for that reason.

Also, we passed by a snake exhibition across the street from Teck Sing. It was the year of the snake and there was an exotic pet exhibit showcasing a few cool snakes that were for sale (in Malaysia of course), as well as other animals including a monitor lizard, tortoises, and a very emo skunk. =( Animals that big shouldn't be in cages, so I'm hoping whoever buys it has a big enough garden to house it, cause boy it looked super sian lying in that cage all alone.

Haha it's fine la, the massage was pretty good, think Colin was also offered, am starting wonder if they knew Xinwei was was GF, maybe better to get massaged in the same room to prevent such occurrences, lol

i don't think such offerings are avoidable for thai massage spas in JB. next time just go back to the one we usually go to, confirm no happy ending one!

I had a hint of weariness when I noticed none of them were wearing uniforms, it was just their own clothes, I didn't think much of it though.

Ya I figured such cases were unavoidable, just amused that they'd even ask when Xinwei was in our midst.
