Putting it on the blog for archiving sake.
Am genuinely happy with my results though admittedly it was an "anyhow whack" attempt....my thought process on the road after the first 2km was "cool I'm doing 5min45sec per km, lets see how far I can maintain this".
Colin and Al have been strategizing their runs for quite some time now as compared to how I do things (perhaps I'm just lazy to strategize, as most people are), and I do remember Colin mentioning before that having a proper strategy would allow you a better performing run that's less taxing on your body as you would with an anyhow whack attempt.
I think it was evident, as on Wednesday I stil found myself not fully recovered, still struggling to maintain 6min30sec pace for 5km at the Newton weekly runs while Calvin breezed through 10km with ease.
Am currently still finding it a bit of a challenge for me to consider negative splits, I'm not mentally strong enough to tell myself to pace up after I've gotten use to a certain pace for a few kilometers into a run. Currently not too concern with strategies and what not yet but I guess from the recovery process the next few days after the challenge, it was pretty clear that a strategy works better if anyone were to consider picking it up.
