LG Nexus Leak

Leaks for the next Nexus by LG are out. At first glance, it looks like the Galaxy Nexus from Samsung, until you look at the back and notice it's now different, if it's anything like the LG Optimus G it's rumoured to take design queues from, that's likely to be glass.

The front looks a lot like the current Nexus, and from hearing some of the complaints from some of the fans so far, they aren't happy with the fact that:
  1. It looks like the old Nexus (iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S?)
  2. No expandable memory (Like the iPhone)
  3. Non-removable battery (Like the iPhone)
  4. Easier to break if full glass (Like the iPhone 4 and 4S)
I guess the anti Apple fans have been dissing the iPhone for so long, a phone such as the new Nexus would be like a slap in their own faces perhaps? It's funny cause Google's never officially dissed Apple or the iPhone, but I guess Apple's criticism towards Android during their keynotes has pushed some users to hate the company and hence find reasons to dislike Apple so much that when Google does something Apple-like, they get lost for words and disappointed.

Personally I'm just curious to see how well the phone performs in terms of battery life. The Galaxy Nexus does sport a removable battery but I've not found myself in a situation where a spare battery is necessary, external batts are fine and so far I charge my phone most of the time in the office. I do note that battery isn't the best, so more is definitely welcome.

Specs wise, the updated hardware, if similar to that of the Optimus G, will make it a very powerful phone considering it'll sport the latest and fastest Snapdragon S4 chip, a huge leap compared to the G-Nex which sport a chipset some what outdated even when compared to the Galaxy S2. I'm not so excited about this, I guess cause Project Butter has made Jellybean much smoother u hardly find problems at times. The additional horse power will most likely come in handy for more demanding tasks like games. It will be welcomed, but I guess it's a "can live without" for me.

If the battery works out well though, I might consider changing to this phone, plus it has to work with a Mac, when I found out the Galaxy S3 can't even connect to a Macbook like the S1 and S2, it was an immediate fail for me. I enjoy Android for it's user friendliness on both platforms and hope Google keeps it that way.

No 4G? Fine by me, 4G will definitely increase productivity but at the rate I chew on data, I may not consider renewing my plan in favor of a larger data cap.

Guess more will be revealed by the end of this month.
