Android Jelly Bean 4.2 & Its Nexus Devices

So the event was canceled cause of the hurricane, but everything else went right on schedule.

4.2 has been officially announced and as previously stated, it's an minor upgrade over its existing Jelly Bean build, but it's still a really good one!

New Keyboard

Google's keyboard now incorporate its own version of swype baked into the system, so no more need for that third party keyboard!

Upgraded Panoramas

Panoramas have gone one step further, similar to that of Panorama 360, which doesn't just take horizontal or vertical shots, but a full sphere at the same time, using Google Street View style tech to stitch the images together, now you can navigate images like you would with Street View too!

Multiple Users

This one is quite a big up, especially for households that share tablets. One of the reasons why I found it uncomfortable using Babe's brother's iPad during our trip to BKK this year was cause I didn't dare to move his stuff around, it was his stuff, it wasn't mine, I wasn't familiar with his apps and what not...I didn't want to download an app, or stare at a background wallpaper of his friends cause it was awkward looking at unfamiliar faces all the time.

The idea of having multiple users in one device means you can customise your own home screen, apps, and what not on your own tablet, but not intrude the settings of your other family members!

New Nexus Lineup!

I'm pretty excited here with the new stuff that Google has done with it's Nexus Devices...teaming up with not one, but a total of three partners this year...LG, Asus, and Samsung to bring three different types of Android devices to the market....a Phone, a 7 inch Tablet, and a 10 inch Tablet respectively.

The video below is 15 minutes, but it dives into the three new devices, talks about the thought process, as well as looks at how Google came into deciding it's next wave of new products...from the feel of the back cover of the Nexus 10, to the edges of the glass finish of the Nexus 4. Whether or not you're a fanboy, I do encourage watching the video, it's nice to see another company that's starting to take design a little more seriously apart from just Apple who'se done it so brilliantly for so many years.
