The main thing he highlighted was that although the camera may have the "same" features as the 7D and 60D, they aren't as good. For example, the burst mode, though almost that of the 60D, doesn't have a strong enough buffer to maintain that frame per second shots, and after a few shots, start to slow down. It could be that the card the reviewer was using isn't a fast one, but still it's something worth noting.
Focusing's faster which may appeal to some, but since it's new sensor is a hybrid, some have mentioned that it doesn't perform well in noisy situations as compared to the 60D or even the 600D.
I'm in no hurry to make any purchasing decisions la but I guess it's good knowing more about something before you put money down on it.

that's quite interesting. perhaps buying a marked down 60D would be a good idea too!
my main concern about the X50D series is the limited shutter lifespan. doesn't feel good knowing that if you spam the shutter button it's gonna break something
It was one of my initial fears but since I changed my shutter about 2 years back it's been going strong and I'm pretty sure it's passed its lifespan by 2x already.
The noise and buffer for burst mode is a bit of a let down though, it might be a problem worth solving by paying $150-$200 more for a 60D
