During last year's General Election, some people were outraged with the influx of foreign workers into Singapore, with many claiming that Singapore has lots of local talents too and that we should look into helping our locals get jobs they deserve.
While I do agree that we need to find ways to help locals get jobs too, I'm not against the idea of hiring foreigners to come and work in Singapore.
However, there are times when I look at certain posts on Facebook and see how our locals aren't able to display common sense, it makes me wonder if some of us locals are not as talented as we'd like to think.
For the uninformed, the top case is one of misfortune, an accident, hence the 1 week sentence. The bottom case is a deliberate criminal act, and no the verdict for 3 years has not been confirmed, that's just a maximum guideline.
While I hope Sticker Girl gets a reduced sentenced, the above image is an example of how things are taken out of context, and unfortunately it has been circulating around Facebook by many who agree with the original post...and with social media being a powerful medium to spread news, it's a sad case of how we locals are displaying to the world our lack of understanding towards the judicial system.
It's sad. =(

I don't think our locals know what they really want. One complain then everyone like the FB post, share and add on without realizing how stupid they are.
