Today's itinerary was more of a movie and shopping trip to Chatuchak Market...we initially wanted to make it more than that but considering how big CTC was, we couldn't cover everything.
But first, we headed off for breakfast! Went back to the place where we had our Phad Thai for yet another dish. Pork Noodles! =)
Did I mention? Thailand loves their vegetables, and often enough, whenever you sit down for a snack, their condiments include chili, peanuts, and a good serving of fresh raw veg.
CTC was in the afternoon, but before that we wanted to try out the famous "Nokia Ultra Screens" cinema to see what the hype was all about.
We booked a movie for 1230, and since it was still early, what else could we do but eat somemore!
Babe wanted to try the Chicken at KFC and of course, we couldn't do without Cinnabons! The large one was a bit filling so we settled for two mini-bons instead...once left in the oven and taken out piping hot, they taste like HEAVEN. So sad that KL has phased them out...at least there's still Krispy Kremes! Can't wait for our year end pilgrimage!
Nokia Ultra Screens was a whole new experience for the both of us...gosh, a full service lounge in the waiting area? Nice! The seats were fantastic, they recline all the way till you're in a lying down position, but still able to comfortably tilt your head and keep your eyes on the screen. =)
All in all MIB3 was a pretty good show, didn't know its been 10 years since the 2nd movie came out, has it been that long???
After the show, it was back on the train, and off to CTC! I had my mind set on shopping, and so did Xinn, so honestly we didn't walk around much at CTC like we did the last time, and spend most of our time at the clothing section.
We did manage to stop for a quick snack!
Apart from that, we were pretty full from Breakfast, the Cinnabons, and KFC...plus tonight was reserved for another famous dish we wanted to try.
By the time we left the place at 8pm, you can see that it was still busy as hell at CTC, check out the legendary traffic!
Once we got out of the place, we headed back to freshen up, and our next stop was a cab ride to Lumphini to try out the legendary Soi Polo Fried Chicken!
We've read quite a bit about this place, and apparently a lot of people have raved about it.
I think cause we only arrived pretty late, the chicken was no longer pipiing hot like we expected it to be...but digging into the meat, you can see how if we came a bit earlier, this would've tasted awesome.
Deep fried tender chicken, served with heaps of deep fried garlic all over the top!! I was actually surprised cause Xinn was the one who recommended this place, and she HATES garlic. But of course, after trying one mouthful of the fried garlic, she stuck with just the chicken while I continued to enjoy the crispy pungent goodness of garlic.
Another two dishes we ordered to compliment the chicken, and to be honest my favorite was actually their Thai Fishcakes!!!
I think the reason was that the fried chicken was left for quite awhile, but the fishcakes were cooked upon order. They were huge, and hot, and SUPER JUICY!!! Yes it was fried in oil, but it was definitely juicy, not oily...well..oily, but it wasn't a mouthful of oil, but a lot of juice...dunno la, hope you get the idea. lol
We had a little more time after dinner, and initially had wanted to check out Soi Cowboy, but after yesterday's bad experience at Patpoing, we figured we'd give it a miss, and go check out Terminal 21 instead.
It was almost closing time so there wasn't much left to see, the mall has a pretty unique concept though, it's suppose to mimic that of an airport terminal, with different floors supposedly being different country-themed.
It was quite an amusing place to walk around, though most of the shops are pretty much what you get elsewhere...all malls look the same after awhile ya?
Soon it was time to head back...so much shopping today, not much photos. Day 3's photos are plenty, will have to sift through and blog about it some day!
