PRC Bus Driver Jailed One Week - Temasek Times
There's a saying that goes something like "If you go looking for conspiracies, you're probably going to find it".
It essentially means that some times we get so involved in searching for something, we hastily jump to conclusions without taking a step back to see a clearer picture.
Let me re-write the above paragraph.
"A bus driver who had been driving for a month was jailed for one week in an accident involving a 19 year old student. The accident was one of negligence but not alcohol. Drivers driving under the influence of alcohol are usually given a much longer sentence in the event of an accident."
Now, I've removed the origin of the bus driver, I've removed the bias remarks of the reporter, the facts are still the same...suddenly the paragraph seems rather harmless doesn't it?
I know there are quite a number of Singaporeans aren't happy with foreigners "taking our jobs", but do we have to stoop so low as to blame them for everything? What this is is a hate crime, we consider ourselves bright and talented people and yet its reports written like these that are really disappointing in my opinion.

the real problem:
foreigners are hired to fill in jobs that locals despise. the elitists will then hate the foreigners. this will be a never-ending problem and sadly, what it means is that this land will not see happiness until that's resolved.
I think to summarize it better: This land will not see happiness
sigh.
Now would be a nice time to talk about John Ando's possibility of coming to Singapore under Bandai. ^.^
