Lens Fixed!

So I dropped my Sigma 30mm late last year at MBS and experienced on rare occasions where the focus will refuse to work, nothing a quick shake and rattle can't fix.

It wasn't a big deal so I didn't bother to send it in for repairs until I was more flexible and free...you know...like now that I'm working with my mum.

Had the camera calibrated with the lens as well while I was there. It's worth noting that local Sigma lenses provide 2x free calibrations for your lens, plus an additional free calibration if you upgrade your camera. Also, the lens comes with a 2 year warranty, 2.5 years if you register with Sigma's distributer, I did not know that! Always thought it was one year only.

The calibration is AWESOME!!! The lens already takes great photos, but for specific focus shots like say, picking out a single toothpick from a row at f1.4 from an angled perspective, the focus is off 1-2mm some times...now it's DEAD ON.

I don't really have use for such accuracy since I seldom a lot of stuff at that perspective, but still it's amazing to see what a simple calibration can do for your lens.
