Google Rebrands Online Stores: Google Play

Google just launched Google Play, a rebranded service of Google's online store.

Movies,  books, apps, they're already available on the Android Market, but with Apple's iCloud and Amazon's Whispersync, looks like Google's adding sync to its services too.

So just like iCloud, apps you download on one device, gets shared on other devices, reads pick off where you left off. Like Whispersync, you can now watch a movie on one device, and pick up where you left off on another.

This is all good but you have to be able to tap into Google's movie rental service and music purchases services...which is only available in US at the moment. I'm guessing at the end of the day, that's where the money is at the moment.

Apple's "loophole" is the giftcard, wonder if a loophole for Google's services will be available.

For now though, apps are going on discount on Android so I picked up two purchases for 50 cents each. =)
