Pulau Ubin - Ketam Mountain Bike Park

One heck of a bike run today! It was Andy, Brandon, Calvin, Colin, and I who made it when there were initially 8 who were suppose to come.

This was my SECOND time (yes I very mountain tortoise) at Pulau Ubin, and first time bringing the bike up there for a run!

Bukit Timah's fun, but after riding it twice now, going somewhere else was always refreshing, although there's the Tampines trail, I didn't find it as exciting as BT or PU.

Riding to the starting point was pretty fun, and although we were hoping it'd rain, it didn't, but it was all good, at least the weather wasn't blazing hot.

We weren't the only bikers there that day, and it was a surprise to bump into Allister whom I knew during my RC drifting days...everyone's there with their souped up full sus bicycles while the gang of us were in our cheap(er) hard tails.

The Black Diamond route was fun, and tough at the same time, in total the trail took out a total of 4 tyres...fierce eh? One of them was mine while Andy took the remaining three slots...lol.

Luckily enough, with repair kits and one spare inner tube in hand, which managed to complete not one, but two rounds at Black Diamond.

Though I was given samples of power gels during the last Newton run, I hadn't brought mine, and got to try one from Colin for the first time...WAH DAMN SWEET LA! I guess it's good for you considering you're burning a lot, but still.

Today was also the day I got to debut my Nathan Hydration Pack I won during last week's Newton run...cool stuff! It's not only light, but super comfortable, all I had in it was my water pack filled to the brim (2 Litres), my wallet and car keys....sure it's not a lot of stuff but hey, why carry so much barang barang when you're riding yeah?

The trip ended with us chilling for lunch at one of the Cze Char stalls...I wanted to take the bike home for washing but cause it needed to go in the car, I had to get it cleaned first...and for $2.50, the bike shop uncles will gladly water down your bicycle with a jet spray...not really good for your gears and what not, but hey if you're in a hurry it's better than nothing...it's not cheap, but at least he doesn't play play, and really goes into the hard to reach spots to remove all that muck.

Today's trip was definitely worth it, last week's BT was fun, today's PU journey was definitely much needed as well...the past two bike rides alone was enough to make me feel that the Cannondale's price has been justified!
