POSB Passion Run for Kids 2011

Unlike Colin, I'm not one who seeks pleasure in exercise...making it rather obvious a long time back that I only run so that I could eat.

When the opportunity came to actually join a race though, I was rather hesitant. Babe's right about me...I'm one to generally shun competition, but when I'm in it, I can get rather competitive at times.

I wasn't keen on the run at first, but since Al was running, I figured heck, might as well join, and since babe was joining too all the more to take part...in the end I decided that I'd do it as a group activity, you know, instead of going to the bird park or zoo, I go run with a bunch of friends.

The run started ok, slowly over taking people can be quite motivational, it didn't help when pass the 8km mark my phone crashed, taking with it runkeeper and my music! It's easy running along with a beat pumping into your head but without music, the last 2km was quite a chore.
Looking at my timing now, I am quite happy with the result, I think I could've gone faster...I noticed when I finished the race I wasn't panting vigorously, rather I stopped, walked, took my medal, and headed for the car to grab my camera...might have tried harder and shave a minute off my timing. The last time I remember dropping on all fours and breathing like a cow was during IPPT in 2005 during Basic Military Training...and even then my time was like 11min 53seconds or sth for 2.4km.

I'm really proud of babe, 1 hour 10 mins! Incredible right? Chili Padi indeed! =D
Overall I did enjoy the run, to say I didn't have fun would be an outright lie...but of course to say I'd keep doing it might be an equally outlandish lie as well.
I run regularly, but prefer to just do it for the sake of food. I did consider the cheat day style diet but I realised I prefer to enjoy good food on an empty stomach cause they don't taste as good when you're half full.

Run competitively? I'll probably think twice. Al's asking me to take part in another run...iono, I'm happy with my regular running routine, event runs...probably not my thing.

*FLASH FORWARD!!!!!!*
