Though I've been to Ubin for OBS, I've never been to the main part of the island before! So this was a first for me...quite sad right?

The place is really old school, you don't get places like this anymore in most parts of Singapore. Sure most of you are laughing that I'm in awe like some goondu tourist. Honestly I've never been here, it's rather cool for a first time! In all fairness this was Babe's first time on the island too.
While most people opted for the bicycle rental, we went on foot around the island instead and headed for Chek Jawa where Colin wanted to take macro shots around the swamp.

We didn't manage to hang around long though...we did get caught in the rain twice...once we managed to seek shelter, but when it came the second time, all three of us were totally soaked!!! Thank goodness our camera equipment was safe and dry in our bags.
To warm up, we settled for some mee rubus and lontong at the little tuck shop located at the jetty once we returned. It was supposedly good, but I thought it could be better, that or maybe the auntie didn't warm the gravy hot enough to make it enjoyable.
Getting to hang at Pulau Ubin for the first half of the day was pretty fun. Granted we got soaked and I almost came down with a flu, the trip was worth it, thanks Colin for the last photo. Cropped cause my armpit was showing!
