Braun Buffel Art Exhibition and Charity Auction 2014

Managed to catch the Braun Buffel Art Exhibition and Charity Auction at Ion Gallery this evening.

I spent most of the time at the reception assisting with the guest list, chat up with Jackson and Diana for a bit and chilled around the front before heading in to join the rest once most of the guests were here.

I made a terrible mistake of not learning to use my flash properly yet, so a lot of my initially shots turned out pretty dim, it wasn't strong enough despite the white ceiling meant to bounce light off it.

Things only got a little better at the end when I figured I needed to up my flash power, oops...this is what happens when you hardly touch your flash unit to know it better. -.-

Oh, and when the auction ended, the highest bid went to a piece by Ren Zi, congrats!

His (Ren Zi, guy above in the middle) work was a tongue-in-cheek play on Damien Hirst's "Mother and Child Divided" installation which features a dissected cow in a glass enclosure...it's quite icky, go google if you want to, don't say I didn't warn you.

Overall the event looked to be a success, Patricia Quek from Braun Buffel was heaving a sigh of relief as the crowd cleared up after the auction was over. It was a successful evening, wonderful.

It's 1:51am, I got a run tomorrow. I really should sleep. Night Y'all.
