Birthday Lock Out...among other things...

So I turned 24 yesterday.

I feel old....

I've been looking through the photos I took this past week and realise I've got food pictures more than anything else again....lol.

MONDAY

Anyway I got this Nissin Cup Noodles from my Korean friend Jae Young, and he told me that they were from Japan and figured I might like giving it a try, so I did.
Now Rebel 1 Xinwei, one of the helpers at the 11th floor HCL room has been nagging to me aobut my obsessive intake of dehydrated overly salty noodles for the past few weeks, I kinda agree, but when you get sth you'd prolly not get to try most of the time, I figured, what the hell la.
I have to say though, I poured in quite a reasonable amt of water, and when I opened the cup after 3 mins, most of it was gone...nope...no hole in the cup, the noodles just soaked up everything like a sponge. Oh, and it had "meat" too...or at least, it felt like meat when u bite into it, non of that tofu-ish mock meat you'd get from most nissin cup noodles here.
I took that as my lunch, then proceeded down to SimLim to give my Macbook Pro an upgrade of 1 additional GB or ram, so now my mac (supposedly) runs faster and (supposedly) handles applications much easier. I say supposedly cause honestly I haven't really given it a hard push yet. =)

I've got little time to blog today, so I'mma skip ahead a bit....I had quite a lot of food to eat though...like...

TUESDAY
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY

I'll skip friday and go straight to

SATURDAY

So I got a call from Colin the day before, informing me to go down and help him mend the yoyo store as he had to handle a booth down at the Singapore American School, so I woke up at 9am...then I slept again till 10:30...after which I finally got up and took a shower, then slept in the shower....then woke up mid way and got changed, board a bus, then slept on the bus....then finally reached the shop.

Apparently there was a film crew down that day that wanted to film the yoyo club, and since it was a Chinese film company, I had nothing to do with the video, which of course, I didn't mind...asking me to narrate in Chinese is like asking Papa Smurf to say the "F" word on TV....not gonna happen.
Anyway since the filming was held down at the "Playground" which is just this empty spot in the middle of all those shops at the top of Suntec City, I figured I'd abandon the shop for awhile when Colin came back and took a few shots.
I even got to test out a $170 yoyo(red) and a Fake version costing just $60+(pink)

The original of course plays better, but only by a bit...and honestly the pink color of the fake one would have made it extra sexy if it weren't for the stars that kinda make it spoiler la.
Aik Hwee and Ying Xiu were the two being interviewed, partially cause their the only few capable of completing a sentence in Chinese...lol.
Since there was a camera crew, there had to be a show right? So most of the guys got together and did a few acts to wow the crowd and camera crew as well...I screwed up the last performance, but I think I really need to practice stage performance again cause I've already lost it...been so long since I did anything on stage for more than 3 minutes...lol.
The day ended with me enjoying this plate of Ayam Pangang down at the food terrace with Colin and Hans...hey I have to admit food court food is becoming pretty darn good...at least at certain stalls...there are just some things that still taste better from a hawker stall.

SUNDAY

I woke up, a year older than I was the day before. I dragged my sorry ass out of bed, took a shower, then made my way down to Tiong Bahru MRT station to meet Hans, then took a bus to the Miramar hotel for lunch...where at? Ikoi!
I'm pretty surprised I didn't take any pictures of the Sashimi...but I was pretty please to have it...salmon that melted in ur mouth like butter....so far only Hanabi has been the other competitor to provide such good tasting raw fish.

Lunch with Hans, Colin, Lionel and Ying Xiu was great...I even got a toy that was 8 inches long and made of wood!!!
What else were you thinking????!!!!

Though it was my birthday, it's pretty much like every other day to me, so I headed back to school to finish up some accounting work at the Podcast room.

I had opened the podcasting room's door and pushed it all the way back where it would hold...then went out to make myself a hot cuppa coffee to start my revision...after which I walked into the room again to put down my stuff including my wallet and access card to the podcast room, then casually walked out to borrow a charger...only to hear the door go *CLACK!* behind me.

I turned around...stunned...speechless...dumbfounded...with an odd look on my face...a look that seemed like it was saying "omg...omg Andrew how stupid is you? omg omg omg!!! do you know what you just did???? OMG!!! What were you thinking????!!!!"

I had locked myself out!!!! I made a phone call to Robert, the other guy with the same access card to the pod casting room, to come down and help me with my dilemma, and PHEW!!! he did!!! I felt so bad cause he took a cab down instead of a bus. I owe him dinner, just need to figure out when to do it.

I found myself sitting in the student conference room for over an hour with Jae young, having nothing else to do, I read his notes on accounting since mine were stuck in the podcasting room, along with my once-hot cup of coffee which I had just made.

Jade had come to study as well, so Robert, Jade and I later had dinner down at Sakae Teppanyaki...which was pretty good...partly cause Jade treated us to it...looks like I owe someone else dinner too.I think I've really over eaten this week. And I think I should start finding ways to cut down on my diet....I have to admit though this week has been a pretty good week, if it weren't for the hilarious lock-out situation.

All in all, I'm glad I got some stuff done in time to prep for more important things tomorrow when I come to sch again to concentrate on other impt matters.

Anyway you guys have a decent week ahead of you.

Cheers ppl

Andrew
