Thank You Splitting Headache.

Because of YEEEEW, I had to skip my blogging session on Sunday and push it to...well....now. =\

But then again luckily I'm outta camp so that means more time on the computer. =D

Well, then again, school's been really stressful.

OK, so here's the skinny.

School's been really stressful...I've never been busier!!!

Normally in camp you'd learn one thing, and u keep doing it again and again it's so routine.

Now, I find myself sorting through tonnes and tonnes of text, trying to figure out what the hell I'm reading.

School started on Monday with us getting our free laptops. Dr Andy had a short discussion with us on how to handle these heavy tank-like things and we were given passwords and what not to ensure only we can access our lappies. If you ask me, seems more secured than the SAF. =P
So we had fun, messed around with the laptops a bit. I tried it, didn't really like it...lets face it, once I went mac, PC was...er...secondary? K so like Aaron, my friend from camp, is damn efficient with a PC, I find a mac a lot more efficient for me. But still, since the school's broadband was running on a secured network, I had to use the laptop. Doesn't mean I don't bring my Mac to school...hey if I wanted work done, I'd do it on a mac. =D

Cool thing about the laptops though. The school's got a battery in-out policy for students who don't bring their power adapters to school(too big and bulky...not like...well...a mac!! HAHA!). This means when your battery depletes, you just head over to the battery in-out area, put in your depleted battery, and take a freshly charged one...how convenient eh? =)

Anyways, first day of school, nth interesting.

Wednesday, I went down to Starlight to meet up with Zhirong and Joshua and gang. Josh tried to shave his head with a mini razor, which didn't end really successfully. Blade was too weak, and Josh ended up having to go home to get his bigger shaver to do the job.
That's Yuan He beside him, trying to point out to josh places he might have missed...lol it was quite hilarious seeing the two meddling with that tiny razor.

So anyway school's been tough....yeah I only got two subjects. English Composition Writing and Critical Thinking & Reasoning. The first one's pretty ok...I wouldn't say easy, let's not jinx it shall we?

Critical Thinking, on the other hand, is DIFFICULT!!! No, it's nothing to do with thinking critically and solving situations, nothing like that!!! That, I can do...this involves reading sentences, pointing out what are arguments, what are just explanations, what are statements, what sort of statements they are, what kind of reasoning would they be...blah blah blah...my mind can't take it I tell u. =( You see a sentence and you think it's this answer, but then it's not! Because it also looks like that OTHER answer...so you're stuck, and wanna die!

Anyway English's been pretty ok. Our teacher's Prof Heather Lusty. Very traditional mindset teacher I would say...sometimes a bit....boring??? Well school's school, and their here to teach, so like it or not their your one source for information. =)

Luckily I got these bunch of ppl to hang out with in class.
So here we've got Winsor, Furlina & Renata. =) I'm missing Chestine, that's cause I haven't got a decent picture yet.

Anyway they're the bunch of woo haas who make life in UNLV a lot more enjoyable so to speak. Furlina plays the "I'm pissed! Why am I here???" kind, Renata plays the "huh? what? who?" cutesy girl-girl type, Chestine plays the hyper-active among the bunch, Winsor's the guy with the 101 witty hilarious comments about everything, I...well....I'm the "wth just happened??" person.

All in all a fun group. Having Winsor around has been great, it's good to have someone u know be in the same course as you. =)

So yeah, without these people around, life would have been difficult to get by in UNLV eh? =)

FRIDAY was pretty exciting, Cheng1 (remember, 1's roger, 2's wilson, 3's..er...yoyo cheng) asked me out to Vivo to check out the Heroes World Tour. I figured "what the hell, I've got time" and took my video camera down to take a few good shots.

We met up with Yingxiu as well who had been waiting for over an hour plus getting a good spot to take photos.

So I'm no celebrity chaser sort of guy, but what the hell, everything's got a "first time" right?

I'm quite happy with the photos though...and while some were difficult to take, running the cam in video mode got me more decent captures than I had expected. =)
I didn't get much though, plus they only lasted like, 10 minutes on stage, so much for meeting celebrities...some times it really gets me wondering, why chase so much in the first place?

But I guess it was pretty interesting, seeing how the entire crowd reacted when the 4 celebs went up stage to greet the crowd, amazing. =)

Another interesting picture I got to take was of this guy whom I saw riding his bicycle down Bugis Area on the same day. Why interesting? Well cause his bicycle was interesting =)
I've seen him around before, think he lives around my area. Apparently the guy hangs out near simlim with a bunch of musicians who ride bikes like these. Lol honestly I wouldn't mind hanging out with them for a day just to see what sort of lives they live, must be really interesting. =)

K, so SATURDAY, not known to many was the Eastern State Throwdown!!! East Side Yoyo Competition!!! And judging the competition was Roy, Hans and me!!!

Of course, living in the west side and traveling all the way to the east has it's toll. So breakfast was in order!!! Beef Brisket Noodles and Shrimp Dumpling Noodles!!!
Can't say much about the taste, was pretty ok though. And so much for calling it breakfast, kinda big duncha think?
So Downtown east got us the same spot for the EST like they did during our nationals.

Pretty ok competition, wasn't very happening like it did during SYYC, but hey, more freestyles for ppl to see, not to mention a better chance for the younger kids to show off their stuff on stage, pretty cool I guess.
Anyway having time to spend with the guys again wasn't so bad. Soon I'll have to start working though, not sure when, but when it starts, hopefully I'll still have time to chill out.

So sunday saw me having one of the worse headache I've had in awhile. I tried to study but couldn't concentrate. I spent the entire day drifting in and out of sleep as I read a few lines of my Critical Thinking notes..bleah!!!

At least I managed to spend a few hours after school in class taking down notes and revising them, still not enough, I can't seem to fully grasp the understanding of Critical Thinking...but hopefully I'm getting there.

K well it's late, I gotta sleep....*YAWN!!!*

I still have to go back to school tmr for their anniversary thingy. It's late, night guys!!!

Andrew
