Soggy Cat
For those of you living in the west, you'd know that it rained pretty heavily around 2am last night.
Earlier that evening, the cat had wanted to go out of the house and place, and after some thought, I decided what the heck, and let him out to chill.
At about 2am when I was woken up by the loud downpour, I realised he was no where to be found in the house, meaning he didn't make it out of the rain in time.
I had initially wanted to sleep it off and let him wait the rain out before rushing home, but then later as the rain got heavier and louder, I decided it was better to go find the guy and bring him home.
Looking for a cat in the rain is no easy feat. First of all, it was raining heavily, so you couldn't hear him meow, I had to look under a few cars to see if he was close by.
Secondly, there are many private houses in the neighbourhood, I didn't know which one he was in, I had a clue though, there were only a few houses he'd visit.
After a good half an hour search, I found him at a garden three houses down, hiding under the bushes away from the rain. He was drenched and obviously afraid. He didn't want to dash out for fear of getting wet even further (which was funny cause honestly he was pretty soaked).
It took some time to coax him, but he eventually climbed through a fence which I had positioned the umbrella to keep the rain droplets out, and in the process, when climbing over me, I got nicked a little by his claws.
After taking him home, I immediately took him to the shower much to his dismay. A quick hot bath to rinse him of rain water followed by a pat down with a dry towel.
In about half an hour time, he was dry once more and happily walking around the house away from the rain. It was 3am by then, and I sunk back into my bed and knocked out.
