Supporting the Freedom to Love - Pink Dot 2014

Since its inception, I've been meaning to go down and support Pink Dot Singapore, but have either forgot to attend, or had something on that I had to skip it.

This year I had it marked on my calendar just in case. But unlike previous years where I had been meaning to take Xinn, now that that's over, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go down alone. From running earlier this morning, I did find out that apparently Eve was heading down with colleagues, so I figured what the heck.

My main purpose there was to capture the people. I didn't want to be candid about it, LGBT can be a bit sensitive for some, so I asked for their photos to be taken. It felt awkward asking at first, but soon after I realized most people were willing to pose for a photo. I only had one turn down and it was done so very politely.

After Eve left, I roamed around a little and took a few more shots. I only reached at 6:15pm so I had about an hour before the sun started to set.

Overall I was pretty glad to have made it to the event. Go to chat with Will Thomas on Facebook earlier and he had been wanting to go down and support but all his friends were unavailable that evening, had I known I'd ask him to join us instead! He's been to the last two events and was hoping to drop by this year. We'll see how next year goes, maybe a small gathering among some of the more open minded runners perhaps?
