Dinner at Dian Tai Fung

I hung out with Colin at Jan's gig on Saturday at Jurong Point and wounded up eating at Dian Tai Fung, a place I haven't been to in quite awhile. I think the last time I was there was when I hung out with Xinn and Chang, we weren't together then yet...kinda like a dating phase? Me and Xinn that is...not Chang!
I think one of my most favorite items at that place was probably their pork chop rice.
Granted there are a lot of other places out there that served this at just $5 and they taste jsut as good, if not better, with more ingredients...The ones at DTF were more like comfort food, they weren't massive in portions, or as oily as the ones outside...they were just right.
I didn't go for pork chops this time round though, I figured it wouldn't be fair if I did not give other items a try, so I went for the shrimp wontons, which were good, but I'm not fond of the soup cause it was really plain, plain as in flavor wise, I'm fine with very little salt but this one tastes a bit like water and had very little flavor in it =\
I think the item worth mentioning would be the Xian Long Baos, which Jan has claimed to be one of the best around, even better than Crystal Jade! How serious was he? Serious enough to eat at both restaurants within two days just to test out that theory! Not bad eh?

Still, I do intend to find one day to have diner at Crystal Jade in Holland V with Xinn, their $23+ Xiao Long Bao steamboat buffet seems to good to miss!!! Too bad the crowd is seriously overwhelming...one day man...one day.
