Hype Dinner @ Uluru

Friday was one of those rare days which we have as a group.

It's been awhile since 8 of the usual peeps hung out together to have a meal. The last time we did so, it was over at my house where we had a BBQ.

So when on Thursday I received an sms from Xinn saying that she could make it to the dinner, I was grinning from ear to ear ---> Like this! =D
After picking up Xinn that evening, we headed down to Uluru once again to meet up with Colin, Hans, Melvin, Sandra, Al and Sharon for a special dinner which Edwin, the chef at the place had arranged for us.
I think it was initially meant to be a small dinner among the iShop people but suddenly it ballooned into a group total of 21 guys at the table dining that night.
So in order to start our juices flowing, a batch of appetizers were whipped up while the rest slowly strolled in.
I think it's been awhile since the bunch of us hung out together and talk cock sing song, so it was great to see everyone again after so long.
As usual, the classic twisted bread was served to the table, followed by Lobster Bisque which was really well done!
Normally, most people will slap in a lot of milk or cream into their bisque to give it a more rich milky flavor to compensate the lack of lobster taste. This one on the other hand, was less creamy, and bursting with so much flavor that the experience was just overwhelming!

Dinner was taken slowly, we had hours to kill, so we took our time with the food. Xinn was rather tired though, and dosed off for a bit...poor girl worked 3 hours over time due to overload of customers at the hotel.
The mains finally came though, and the items were impressive, just like the last time! =D

Grade 8-9 Wagyu beef served with asparagus, french beans and mash with truffle oil infusion!
Pan Seared Cod Fish!
Lobster bisque drenched penne with Shrimp!
and last but not least....the 1KG BURGER!
Oddly though, it seemed so much smaller than the one we saw the last time round we were there, disappointment, but still, this burger was for sharing so no 30 min challenge was given =)
Hans was the first to tackle the burger, which was made to topple and then divided among ourselves.
I think if I were to tackle this on my own........er........forget it.
As usual, dinner was slammin, everyone was damn full but when the plate came, no one rejected it =)
Dinner was GREAT! I think the bill we chalked up was quite a bit though, the iShop guys had 13 people, and received a bill about $700+

We had 8 people and totaled to about $600+

Hype eh? =)

One meal I surely won't forget.
