Should I wait?

Somehow for no reason whatsoever, I have Creative's main website as my main page on my home desktop.

I'd like to think that one day Creative will come by with something impressive that'll bring it back on its feet again....support local product eh?

Anyway when they announced Zii earlier this year I was pretty excited, something good to come out of it perhaps?
Today something new came out of Zii Labs, a product called the Zii EGG.

I know it'll probably be labeled an iPod lookalike and perform alike...but seriously, how different can simple designs get?

The specs look impressive though
  • HD Video playback with HDMI output to TV
  • HD Video recording
  • 3G Video conference Camera
  • X-fi Audio Processing
  • Wifi Web Browsing
  • Accelerated 3D Graphic Games
  • SDHC Card Slot option
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • Text to Speech (I know I know...very Apple)
  • In built GPS chip
  • etc
Problem is though, this product ISN'T for sale to the general public yet, more like, a building block for developers to purchase and design on.

In other words, the final product may not bare the Creative brand, rather...say...Samsung? LG? Creative is just providing the backbone infrastructure while other companies will work on top of it.

Looks like something I might actually consider getting as an alternative to the iPhone especially if it's got video playback without the limitations of mp4 and mov like the iPhone.

Thankfully the product currently runs Google Android...not as popular as the iPhone's leopard osx.

At least they didn't slap in Windows Mobile to fuck the whole thing up.
