Out to Jahor

Cause it's always hard to find time to actually meet up as a group, we tend to find something to do together rather than to just sit around or chill for a simple dinner.

Which is why on Saturday, Colin, Mel, San, Al, Sharon and I headed over to JB to hang out and escape from the reality of schooling/working life.

Al had mentioned about having lunch at his brother's place in a nearby local mall, so we decided to take up his suggestion and headed down to El Migos for lunch =)

According to Al, this place serves up a rather fusion joint...and fusion seems like the right word indeed! "Bar chor mee" pasta..."Thai Seafood soup Pasta", Cordon Bleu Burger, Japanese Pizzas etc.

Apparently Melvin raves a lot about Fajitas and when Al's brother mentioned that on the menu, it was a definite "yes!" as one of the items on our table. The sauce was great, and the meat served was DELICIOUS!

Other great appetizers included mushroom soup in a cup and pizzas, which were all extremely delightful!

The main courses weren't that bad either. Mine was a Japanese Seafood Soup pasta which kinda reminded me of a Vongole.

The dishes were great and seriously well thought out in my opinion, but I think the highlight was the desserts which looked incredibly good!

The banana thingy was ok, but the Lava cake was dope!!! Made at the restaurant and baked upon request, the outside is thick and slightly crusty like a crumble, with soft moist chocolate ooozing out when cut open!

See? Never bluff you right?

Al's brother, who apparently wanted to work as a chef in Swissotel but was rejected due to his tattoos, now owns his own restaurant along with a few shareholders and to be honest, I think he's doing more successful now than he would have if he had gone ahead with that chef job.

Other activities that day included a massage and a little shopping, but the highlight came at night when we headed down to a really popular spot in JB where Singaporeans would go to satisfy their cravings for good food.

Apparently Colin would come here quite regularly during his NTU days and highly recommended the seafood here.

Dinner was definitely great, and amounted to just SGD$13 per person, not bad eh?

We ended around 10:30 and crossed back to Singapore by 11pm.

Overall it was great, just missing one thing, quality time, which I did after I rushed home, borrow Dad's car and headed out to have some chill time with...

All's right with the world once more.

heng heng one loh, haha colin's head is in the way though. lol!

no la no worries, anyway it wasn't directed at u if u were wondering, technically we both fall under victims of RMS/RMD category. lol!

Besides, i seriously think it was the lack of coffee, really late sleeping hours and slight headache that night that sparked the entry. =)

If anything, I totally prefer this entry instead.

And iono why I mispelled Johor. lol!
