Saturday away from everything.

So last Saturday, Colin, Hans, Mel, San, Xinn and I figured we'd spend the afternoon going to the Hoshi Japanese restaurant at IMM to try out their buffet since Hans had initially recommended it to be rather good.
Apparently Hans was raving non stop about their Mackerel, which to be honest, was really good! It wasn't raw like the others, sorta...bathed in either vinegar, lemon or light acid...the texture was pretty much that of a cooked piece of fish..wow!
Now when I look back at the photos, there weren't THAT much stuff in terms of choices, but nonetheless it was a pretty good meal.
The one thing that we kinda rejected though, was this "Snow Yam paste on Tuna" thing...which to be honest, was slimy...and immediately reminded me of...er...Nose Snot!!!
After lunch, we kinda headed to the roof top of IMM to chill for a bit, I got Hans to help me film a bit of stuff since I was bored while the rest decided on palces to go next since none of us wanted to head for Spinworkx that day.
After awhile though, we decided to head to this "bar" at Portsdown road, some place Mae, the owner of Art Outreach, had suggested to Colin before.
It was our first time there, and upon first looks, I was like...WOW!
This place is bloody old school! From the chairs, to the tables, to the shop itself!
This one caught my attention, I've never tried it, doubt I will any time soon though...
Their snacks were really good too btw
The brownie was DOPE!!! The same could be said for the fries, which were large wedges cut and deep fried...none of that frozen crinkled cut shit! =)

And since I was there, I figured it would have been a waste if I hadn't taken the opportunity to snap a few shots. =)
Anyway as the sun began to set, we were running out of ideas on where to go. Hans had to leave for some drumming session so we were left with 5 people...and after awhile we found ourselves parking at the Shaw Towers and making our way on foot down to the Singapore Flyer to catch the Redbull Motorcross show.
Now ofcourse, the first thing I noticed among the crowd was...everyone had extremely large cameras!!! Mine being quite the amateur-sized camera, I felt quite intimidated. lol.

I didn't have the fancy flash needed to take really good shots, and since it was really dark, iso800 was the way to go, which resulted in the pictures looking a lil noisy.
Cause I didn't have any good lighting on my camera to work with, I ended up "borrowing" light from the flashes that came from the hundreds of DSLRs that were present. I can't say the image was good, but it was viewable I guess =)

We soon got bored cause their stunts were...well....simple. So we headed down to Esplanade TCC to chill for abit. While on the way there though, I began experimenting with my camera's flash, setting it to minimal to help with a little be of compensation for the darkness around the area. What I ended up with was this!
I can't believe I took it with this camera!!! I love it!!! Guess I better start messing around with flash abit to see what else can be done =)
We figured Hans might join us after his session, but further complications to his stomach meant that we went on our own to settle dinner at Old Airport Road.
The day ended at around 11 plus, which was good, I mean, almost 12 hours hanging with the bunch of ppl that you enjoy chilling with...what's more to ask for eh?

All in all, this was damn fun, we should really do this again some day guys. =)
