Veg Out!

Sunday evening, Xinn and I met up with Colin, Jan, Jill and their gang for dinner at Marine Parade to check out this vegetarian joint that Jan had been raving about recently that we should try.
I'm quite a big fan of Vegetarian food, a lot of people I know aren't...it's something they rather avoid altogether...afterall, meat is meant to be..er...meat. And vegetables are mean't to be vegetables.
I have to say though, some times you really have to appreciate vegetarian food as a type of cuisine all by itself, once you factor out the meat-veg shouldn't be like this mentality, it becomes a whole new experience of flavor and texture.
Such is the case of these few dishes, check out the "Three-Layered Pork"! It even has separated "fats" in between that give it this additional texture like you're biting into the real deal!
This was a pretty new idea to me...steamed fish?
I thought the soup was really good, and the mock fish was really meaty as well, nothing like real fish, but definitely nice as a dish on its own =)
Besides the unique dishes they also had the regular stuff like "Sweet n Sour pork" rice etc, nothing special, they did have western and pasta though...looked pretty interesting although i didn't bother to give it a go that time round.

Anyway if you're living in Marine Parade or know where it is, go give it a try, I think it's definitely worth it. =)

I will blog about bowling.
