I'm supposed to be on a low carb diet, but the sudden urge to try and cook up Carbonara pasta ruined my plans. Craps.

I first started out by taking my Pasta Measuring Guide which I got while at the Food Hotel Asia earlier this year during the Hotel Association visit, basically the smallest hole is for kids size, while the other 3 are for single, double and 3 ppl =)

I then took out stuff I got my dad to buy which included:
1 x Can of Cream
2 x Table Spoons of Cheese (But really, if you're a cheese nut and want more, be my guest)
1 x Table Spoon Olive Oil
1 x Tea Spoon of chopped garlic (If you don't like garlic....TOO BAD!!! But really, I think u can remove this if u want)
4 x Mushrooms (I took 2 shitake, 2 fresh buttons)
1x Bacon (I took two, cause I'm a greedy bastard)
1 x slice Ham (Any ham will do, you don't even need to put it in if you don't want that much meat, like I said, greedy bastard)

So I got two stoves working, one to boil the pasta and the other to fry the bacon(yums). The pasta would later go into the pan so I didnt wanna over cook it, so if the instructions say 8 mins, i went down to 6....but personally I just took a few pieces, popped it into my mouth and figured it out....not that I was good at it, I was lazy to bring around a timer. =\

I thought for a first time carbonara dish, I was doing pretty ok. I always observed the chef in the kitchen at Black Angus and asked a lil here and there one what to do, but in the end I was pretty much still going in blind.

I think overall, the result was pretty decent, it could have been c reamier instead of sticky and lumpy cause I added too much cheese I think and not enough water....I also didnt exactly put in an egg...but I was told by my chef it wasn't really necessary...and maybe I could have used better cream so it wouldn't lump up that much....but aiyah, first time don't need such good stuff eh?

Anyway the pasta turned out to be pretty good =)
Sticky...but good =)
You can try cooking it if you want, I don't have proper directions, but you can try following it here
