I'm not procrastinating...I swear!

For the few of you who actually read this blog, you'd know that for the past two posts, I havn't been blogging on a weekly basis due to my lousy school schedule.

My only fear right now is that I stop blogging completely....if that happens, who'd keep a diary of my life?

So no, I'm not slacking off on my blog, I'm just super busy and stressed out with other stuff to really concentrate on this right now.

But anyhoooo, let's start from two weeks ago...=)

LAST TUESDAY

It was after school hours, but a bunch of us were still in class at around 8pm finishing up last minute assignments and avoiding the need to bring work home.

Home is such a beautiful place, it need not be terrorized by homework no?

Apparently those who were taking MICE classes had a special flambe session that night.

For those who don't know, a flambe, is what you see on TV where the chef sets a pan on fire and everything inside explodes and disintegrate into a fine ash.
No seriously, a flambe is when the chef sets the pan on fire midway through cooking, it's really cool, and doesn't just apply to main courses, but soups, desserts and even drinks too =)

So when one of our professors Gerry Koh was gonna do a Coffee flambe, I had to watch, cause it's been a while since I watch or even performed one myself(back in like...2002).
Now there wasn't much flaming for this particular session, blame it on the glass pan, which had to be used because he didn't bring his copper pan that night.

Remember, Copper pan = good. Glass pan = evil.

Overall it was still quite an experience...oh some guy fainted by the way...big wooo haaa...ambulance came, guy woke up, sent to hospital...i didn't take photos, would've been rude now would it? =)

LAST THURSDAY

Our school had a carnival on Thursday, and a bunch of us set up stalls to sell stuff to make money.
I had set up one in favor of a friend who's dad is suffering from cancer.

What did I make? Mushroom soup of course!!! Like I got any other skills...lol!

I don't wanna go into detail about the carnival, cause there were too many things, I'll just put pictures =)
In conjunction with it, we also had a Sudoku challenge which was pretty cool. =)
Oh and congrats to dear buddy Renata for winning the free return air ticket to Hong Kong!
So after the whole thing, a bunch of us headed down to the Loof beside the school for some drinks before heading home and calling it a day.
I think it's been the funnest day I've had in quite a while, school has been so stressed, it was great having to chill out and find time to relax once again.

Oh and the soup? I made $93 that night...which was actually pretty much the same cost price of the stuff I bought, so I broke even, but put all the money aside for Takeshi's dad anyway =)

LAST SUNDAY

I had my dad's car to drive cause he was in China and had us take care of it, so I drove it down to school to finish up some last minute work.

I went out with Jade to Popular to walk around and get stuff, while there, I stumbled upon a sign and a drink which I found very amusing =)
Now the "No salesman" sign was really cool, it's like the one sign that I've actually seen detering a human being! Sad right? lol

Anyway that night, Jae Young brought us (Well, I brought them, I drove, they gave directions...lol) to this restaurant at amoy street, which was a Chinese-Korean style restaurant that was pretty neat =)
Jae Young, Chris, Thomas, Jade, Robert and I were there, and the food we ordered was BADASS!
Now they were pretty pricey, especially the single dishes like the sweet and sour style pork and gyoza, but overall it was definitely worth trying and I wouldn't mind a second visit =)

TUESDAY

I had the car for one last day, and because my friends were sick and tired of bugis food, we drove out to vivocity, and ended up in great world city inside, partly my fault...I lost my way...haha =P

We had dinner at Sapporo Ramen, which was really reasonable, two small dishes, one noodle, one rice, for around $16 nett...why not eh?
Initially we were to go to Kenny Rogers, but figured japanese was in order and switched the last minute when we saw the store just opposite KR. =)

WEDNESDAY

It was late, and I was still in school, I didn't wanna go out and eat, so I figured I opened a bowl of the noodles Jae Won had bought me from Korea...since I was in the podcast room, and there was lighting, why not hype up the pictures? =D
But of course, when you're hungry, you're hungry, and so I ended up going out to buy popiah at Qi Ji as well =P
I admit the noodles wasn't much to my taste, but it was definitely nice, and worth the try =)

THURSDAY

On thursday I had Pasta Mania
Yeah..that's all I have to say.

FRIDAY

Our UNLV Hotel Association had it's first excursion to the Food Hotel Asia 2008, and boy it was worth the trip!!!
All the food you could ever wanna sample, all the cool machines you could buy, damn, a Siew Mai making machine!!! I WANT ONE!!! lol

Anyway I have tonnes of photos of the event, you can check them out here
PART ONE
PART TWO

SATURDAY

Colin, Hans and I went down for dinner and at first had decided to go Kenny Rogers.
I ended up suggesting Beppu Ramen for it's cheaper pricing of noodles...and got myself into trouble with a bowl of extremely spicy noodles.
You see, that soup's red for a reason...and a good one too.

it's DAMN SPICY!!!

Now I consider myself a good chilli eater, green curry has always been a personal favorite.

But when stumbled upon a bowl of edible lava, I had it....it was no-joke hot...and by no joke, I meant a bite out of it could burn away whatever respect you have left for yourself.

At first hans thought it wasn't so bad, and that my expression was priceless and pathetic. Then he tried a mouthful of noodles, after which he apologized.

lol!

So I guess it's definitely one of those places you won't see me go again, unless it involves me daring a friend to give it a try =)

SUNDAY

We woke up this morning to head down to two very important places...my Grand mother and Grand father's grave.

I hadn't been ot my grandma's grave in ages, and it was my first time to my grandfather's since his passing in 2005.
I took pictures of both prayer sessions with my grandparents, although I don't think it's been considered disrespectful, I figured I'd keep the pictures to myself, very personal...especially my grandfather whom I miss dearly.

Well its been a long 2 weeks.

I better get sleep, dad's not around, need to drag myself out of bed tmr.

Takecare ppl, night!

Before I go though...remember the ipod roadshow I filmed a few weeks back?

Colin made a video for iShop, which is think is MAD AS HELL!!! Although he thinks it's ok and quite sad cause he didn't like the song, anything i think it was some pretty badass editing, hope you guys enjoy it=)
