What a long title!
With that said, this post isn't gonna be very long though...I'll keep it moderate.
So it's the first post of the new year!!! How did you guys spend it in the end??? New Years Eve at Black Angus was a rush, food, more food, people, more people and then there's fireworks.
I served these 2 Japanese men and a lay who dined at our restaurant, they spent a heck of a lot of money and even opened a bottle of $168 Champagne that I got to try as well =) K so it's not VERY expensive champagne, but when the Jap guy offered a toast, it was rude to decline, and since it was the New Year, I got a glass from him. It was a Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial, and to those who are familiar with champagne will kick me when I say I'm sorry but I can't really appreciate a glass of it, although I get a lot of reviews that this is an excellent bottle of Champagne.
The only reason why I'm posting a wedding edition picture of it is because I just realized that one of the ladies at the Spinworkx shop, which is actually sharing an Arts centre as well, has these two lovely bears sitting on top of her LCD computer monitor. Haha...what a coincidental find!K enuff of that, so the fireworks were great, I've pretty much gotten tired of seeing it but for those who don't, here's some shots I took.
Wednesday
Mambo night!!!
Ok...so maybe the expression should've been more like..."mambo night..."
It was my first time there actually, never really understood retro music, nor the fact that everyone at Zouk does these same moves to it again and again.
I'm not a big fan, and the only time I did enjoy myself was when they played 70s music and not the 80s electronic stuff.
Don't ask about the green circle, I did it just because I found it kinda amusing.Kelly, Jenny and Chestine went as well as Jenny's friend Youji Noh. Windsor and his girlfriend were supposed to join us but they bailed to MOS instead, sth I would have rather preferred cause Zouk always came across to me as a club for young ppl who wanna experience drinking, drinking, more drinking, and eventually lying around outside the club like they owned the pavement.
Thursday
I met up with the random-talking-lobby-girl to check out this place she highly recommended me to have lunch at...Food For Thought!
I've blogged about it before remember? And then I realized Leslie Tay did an article on it, and now that Lynnette's mentioned it as well, I figured it was time I gave it a try.
It was interesting for awhile, but after that it got a tad bit too bland...and it was really thick, like...stew...no wait...like paste! Yes, Mushroom paste is what I'll call it.
So the soup was a lil of a downer, but that was where it ended.
I really liked the stewed pork, so fusion if u ask me, the pulled pork was good too, but I had a lot of that when I was in the states, nothing beats good ol local food =)
Friday
Remember I mentioned my new found fear for Raw Salmon?
No kidding man.
Colin, Hans and I checked out this japanese restaurant which apparently was extremely near my school! I should try lunch there some day if I had the money or if there was space though, its always packed.
Of course, there were other stuff, most of which I can't spell, so I'll just put pictures =)
The rest of the items were pretty good, although I think I found the variety pretty lacking for some reason. I've been to this other jap restaurant at mirama hotel but it's been so long to give a comparison though.
K well i'm basically out of things to write about, I'm taking off for the night.
Takecare ppl, cheers!
Andrew
