Last post before Champange and Fireworks

I'm exhausted....

Physically and Mentally.

This month has been quite a rush.

Mostly due to staying up till really late and waking up early cause my body refuses to sleep somemore.

Also due to the pressure of past issues clashing with my present day agendas. Mostly involving me just over thinking things.

I over think...a lot. And it's not a really good thing to do. Sometimes it is, mostly, it's just too damn draining on the mind. I don't talk about them cause I don't see the need to discuss them, mainly cause its just me who's over paranoid about it.

Paranoid, not a good word, but you know what I mean.

But with all that thinking comes work, something I used to do a lot to avoid thinking...and gosh it's damn effective at times. But now I've kinda quit my job to make room for my studies, which isn't good especially when it's the holidays which gives u hours and hours of free time to ponder.

See, here I am again rambling on and on and on.

Anyway this is my last post before the new year, might as well write more interesting stuff.

This week wasn't particularly happening though.

Wednesday, I had steamboat with Zhirong and the group down at Joshua's silversmith workshop. We figured it was good to have some good ol interesting get together dinner and since I had a teppanyaki/steamboat machine and Yuan He had a bbq hotplate, we fixed one up and went grocery shopping.

but first, Durians!
Something Joshua had the sudden craving for before we started on the steamboat items.

I havnt had durians in a long time....what's a Singaporean who doesn't like Durians??? that's just sad. I like durians, I wouldn't say love. Love is when u buy a whole bag of durians, pry them all up, put them into little plastic boxes, write "monday, tuesday, wednesday..." on each of them, and eat them accordingly, then repeat the steps again once you're out of it.

I like it, but it's not an obsession, it's more of those things that fall under cravings...you know, sth you'd prolly not think about until one day u wake up and go "hm........I feel like durians"

Here I am again, rambling. Let's not do that.
So steamboat was great, about 8 ppl showed up, we didn't want a big group, it was a small gathering among close friends.

Anyway the dinner was pretty good, then afterwards it got a tad bit weird...what with the constant downing of ingredients by our overly experimental friends who wanna see what kinda soup they could turn up.
This is the much talked about 8 eggs in lamb/chicken/pork bone soup...er...stew? Accompanied with fish balls, sausages, japanese mushrooms and a thick layer of oil, thanks to the over use of waxed chinese sausages dumped into the broth. MY GOD I'M NOT TOUCHING THAT.
This is the...er....puddle of butter that was left on the hotplate after we were done. Did I say teppanyaki style? I think more like partial deep fry.

Notice the one chicken wing mid joint at the centre away from the oil? thats mine....me trying to be healthy...yeah like that'll work.

Friday, I was EXTREMELY BORED....like dying-of-boredom kinda bored...know? It's the kind of bored where you're boring ur brains out....there's nothing to do, ABSOLUTELY nothing that it drives u nuts.

Some ppl find that ok, I don't, if I bore my ass off, I'll..er...bore my ass off.

So nette and I met up to go slack, at borders, then to taka, then to the Singapore Arts Museum.

I havn't been there in like...ages, last time I went I couldn't even remember why I was there. Since it was free entry after 6 on friday, we checked it out. I didn't know we weren't supposed to take pictures in the museum until I...er...took pictures in the museum. =)
I didn't take much, like i said, no picture rule...but I like these two in particular.

I'm not a big fan of art, as in you don't see me raving about it, but it doesnt mean I don't appreciate it. I like something that either requires effort, or is shocking.

That said, I'm fine with abstract art, I have nothing against it. Sometimes though, art gets too abstract and I can't appreciate it...and feel that sometimes it's just made to poke fun at the human imagination.

Like this one art piece I saw which consisted of 3 project screens of a camera following the lives of 2 ppl as they go through their daily routine....in a slight fast forward....basically it's a loop of that, which I could have easily done myself. Maybe that's why I find it meaningless, cause I could easily do it. Art to me, is something that's not exactly subjective, but more like, a stroke of luck.

If you're a good cook, you're a good cook, as in even if well knowned critics don't visit the place which u work, other ppl will still go, and praise the food which u cook. If you're an artist, and u do something extremely abstract, like that video I told you about, you only become famous when a well known critic tell ppl it's good, u show it to ur friends, u may get laughs from them. Even if somewhere across the globe another artist does the EXACT same work u did and showed it to another critic, he or she may not get the same response. Plus, with the over imaginative mind of ppl who view art, some times it's really the artist who's poking fun at the audience, making something he prolly may not appreciate, and putting it up so as to see what sort of crazy ideas ppl come up with.

Now remember the art benefit I volunteered for last week, that was art in my opinion, art because it was painstakingly done by a physically handicap, who used effort to produce his work, that I'd appreciate....but art like the video I saw, I just can't comment on it.

Ok enough talk, so we had beef noodles later at Purvis Street. I've only had it twice, once with my classmates during lunch break, and then there was that day. Anyway I particularly like the beef noodles here, I'm not the type to eat beef noodles at normal coffee shops though...I like beef, but beef noodles at coffeeshops seems to be a lil too bland for my taste...like an overuse of cornstarch and too little sauce....the one at Purvis street however, hits the spot, and the soup, YUMY
Anyway Saturday was pretty much like any other saturday...

I got to try my other packet of Halloumi cheese I've been telling u about.
I've come to the conclusion that halloumi cheese is salty in general...after a few bites, I was done.....I love cheese, and I love the texture, but if it hadn't been so salty I would have prolly enjoyed it a lot more...this was like an uber salt lick bar...a bar of cheesy salt.

They could have called it Halloumi salt bar with added cheese.

Maybe I wasnt getting the right one, but after 2 different tries of 2 seperate brands, I think I've broke my tongue.

Yes, I broke my tongue...it's spoilt.

Well I've prolly come to the end of my post...what a boring week to end the year duncha think? I believe man can only do so much with the amount of free time he or she has.

You guys have a great year ahead okie??? Life's too short to ponder too much.

And before I go, I just wanna say if history has taught us anything, it's that killing doesn't solve anything, and may Bhutto rest in peace.

Takecare peeps, Happy New Year to all of you =)

Oh yeah, new layout ppl, check it. =)
