Fun weeks tend to fly by so fast....

It's always the times when you're having fun does time actually fly pass so fast you barely notice a week has passed.

Well a week has passed....and I've got so much photos I don't even know where to start.

*sigh*

MONDAY

I got to hang out for lunch with my classmates during their short 1 hr break from their dreaded winter class session. You see, I'm exempted(WHEEE!), which means I need not take the course....although I would have loved to joined in for cooking class, but it's only one day of it..how's that gonna help?
Anyway I checked my expenses sheet and realised I havnt had pasta mania for at least 6 months now....I'm not a big fan of the franchise so I guess it wasn't really a surprise. I did have it on Monday with the group though....I still don't like it...the taste wasn't hitting the spot, but since there was company, what the hell right?
Dinner was a different story though.

Apparently the class was having a subject on food sanitation and one of their task was to eat at an open-concept kitchen restaurant to observe the hygiene practices of the restaurant while they were there...and since I hung out in school not wanting to go home at such early hours, I joined them at Ding Tai Feng for dinner.
It was my first time at the restaurant and I really enjoy chinese food so this was just the treat I needed to pamper myself after the exams. The starting dish wasn't nuts like you'd get at most restaurant, but this mixture of pickled vegetables and beancurd strips....really nice! Tastes a lot better if u add more vinegar to it as well, which was exactly what I did btw...lol.
Forgive the blurry picture, I guess I didn't focus my camera properly when I took it...Robert was there too, but was beside me and didnt wanna appear in an all girls photo...lol.

The xiao long bao and the pork chop fried rice was pretty good, and so were their "la mien"...honestly though I'm not a big fan of la mien, it's....er....well it looks too simple...basically u just cook the noodles, put meat sauce, and u get a dish, out sesame oil and nuts, u get another dish, put spicy pepper vegetables, u get yet another dish...not very exciting if u ask me.

There were photos of dessert, but I'm lazy to put them up...I still got another 6 days of blogging to write about so forgive me. =P

TUESDAY

Nth much, it rained so we couldnt hold our drift meet at Sembawang, so my highlight for that day was actually when I went to Mustafa and spotted this toilet bowl that somewhat came across to me as some stupid idea for a jet plane ejection seat.
WEDNESDAY

The highlight of my day was when I woke up at 11, had lunch at home, slept again, woke up at 4, had dinner at home, went out to 2 supermarkets at 7pm, came back at 9, and didnt spend a single cent.

Wow..so much for calling this entry a "time flies really fast when u're having fun" post.

THURSDAY

Woke up, went down to school to meet Dr Andy with the ppl from Rebel 2 for a meeting regarding the setting up of a hotel club, lasted what, 10 mints? Found myself lingering in school again watching episodes of Grey's Anatomy cause I was bored...

It got fun, however, when evening came, cause Spinworkx Yoyo Club was having a BBQ party and all the members were invited, so I went down to join in the fun. =D
so during that time the guys were there, as u can see from the pictures a lot of them spent it playing yoyos, there were two small competitions, one of which i judged.

I have to admit I love to yoyo, but I'm not as crazy about it as these kids were, so much enthusiasm....I was glad the yoyoing died down at around 2am, when most of the parents brought their kids home and the rest remaining started playing stupid group games like "Hunter"...I'll explain next time if i have the time.

Anyway we stayed till the next morning where I left early.

FRIDAY

Was supposed to go out and meet Lynnette for lunch but the moment I reached home, I was so tired, and so I knocked out, plus she also canceled it, which was sorta a relief, no i'm not avoiding her or anything, I was just too tired to go out that day.

I did work in the evening at Black Angus though, they were low on man power so I went back that night.

SATURDAY

I did...absolutely nothing...wow, no I CANT believe I started the entry with that topic...haha.

Oh yeah, well I did went to fair price to buy stuff for Robert's party the next day.

I bought Otah, Sotong Balls and made Mushroom soup!
I havn't done cream of mushroom in a damn long time, luckily the recipe's really easy to remember so I had no trouble doing it again, this time I used white and brown button mushrooms, fresh of course, as well as portebello....I wanted a lil bit of shitake to add some wild flavor to it but I had bad experiences before adding too a really strong flavored type of shitake it literally overpowered the taste of the soup.

SUNDAY

I had voluntary work down at school's lounge area which had been converted to an arts exhibition for a disabled artist named Martin....they are basically digital prints, meaning they were hand drawn on computer with a mouse by Martin, who has difficulty controlling his balance as well as his hands by the way, and then printed on canvas to be sold. I really admire his courage, but I honestly have no appreciation for art though. Still, here's some of the pics i took.
Sarah was there too, and so were some of the other Koreans and students who came that day...most of which were there for Robert's party, they met up to buy stuff while I sat there and did "guard duty"...lol.
DINNER TIME!

So it kinda rained, and so a BBQ was out of the question, instead a home-cooked meal was prepared for everyone, Korean food, at least 4 different types, Cream of mushroom and cheesecake + tiramisu!!!
The cooking or in my case, reheating of food was rather long and tedious, but hey, we really had fun....it's been awhile since I had simple gathering among friends.
Don't get me wrong, clubbing's fun too, but sometimes a little laid back dinner and talk cock session can be really interesting as well =)
Haha....I ate so much today I felt guilty and decided to walk home...

I don't really live that far..25 minutes walk I guess? Imagine...Orchard MRT to...Plaza Singapura?

Some of u might be gasping and calling it nuts or crazy...I still do remember back in 2000 when I once was so bored I literally walked from Orchard MRT, to forum, to cineleisure, to HMV, to Plaza Singapura, back to Forum, and then to Takashimaya again...or sth liddat...2 hours I think? Can't remember what in the world made me do it, but I did...u know it's a really healthy lifestyle...but wow I doubt I'd do that again...haha!

K well it's 2am!!!

I need to go get some shut eye...u guys have a wonderful week ahead too, takecare, cheers!

Andrew
