Mainly the type you'd get from the foodstalls below HDB flats early in the morning where u pick ur favorite fishcake, sausages, luncheon meat and veg, along with your choice of fried kway teow, noodles or bee hoon.
Anyway...I used to LOVE beehoon as a kid, like when i was 5, I remember going to my aunt's house when by parents went out, and my aunt would buy back breakfast fried beehoon for me. I'd remember I call it "brown beehoon" cause that's all I could remember it by, there was the brown one, and the white one, u know, the type u drizzle curry sauce over.
Anyway I love the "brown" one, which was simply fried with a little bit of bean sprouts and that was it. I don't really need all the extra egg, luncheon meat, chicken wing etc to make it taste good. Beehoon alone, YUM.
Oh, and get this, I don't really eat beehoon that's hot. I kinda like it....er...cold? Ok not COLD cold...but more like.....cooled down? u know, when u leave food at the table for too long and it's gone down to room temperature? YEah....that's it....I like that type of beehoon. Normally at that temp it's chewy, a little sticky, but not soggy, and has this "TWANG" when u bite into it and it stretches and breaks apart...
Oh, and I don't like bee hoon that has been CUT UP!! Defeats the purpose right??? That's why i dun eat bee hoon goreng in singapore. It's TERRIBLE! I think the one in malaysia is better, where they leave it long and uncut...so much better.
Haha I'm going nuts over it right now AGAIN!.
But yeah you get the picture...friend brown beehoon...YUM.
So last week was pretty tiring, what with the mid term exams for Purchasing on Wednesday that really pissed me off.
I had work on monday though, and after work, got the time to try out my K850i camera's night shot and macro functions...really interesting. I played with afew more shots on wednesday as well...anyway here's what I got.
Depth perception was pretty good though, especially with the bronze statue's fingers and his face at the background...pretty impressive for a little snapper =)
Enough about cameras, back to.......er....food!
So Thursday I woke up and was supposed to go out and meet a friend, but I guess the flu's gotten to everybody so it was cancel...sigh. What made the day worse was going down to my favourite Won Ton noodle store at Eng Kong near my house and realising that the stall is gonna close this 20th November!!!!!
After what....20 years in the neighborhood? I swear to you this is the BEST wonton stall I've ever been to. It doesnt have the freshest ingredients, or the most meat, or whatever, but it's gravy is the reddish sort, not brown like u get at most places...and the price for a plate is FANTASTIC.
So Saturday I went down for the yoyo meeting and guess what I saw?
Ok so it's a cruiser.....a cruiser that's blocking the sun!
Which means saturday turned out to be pretty cool, without the sun burning down on us. Also I hear this cruise is some youth thing where they go from port to port all over the world for some convention? I'm not really sure, sorry, if anyone has more info about it lemme know =)
I went to Spizza with Hans after the meet for dinner and finalyl got the chance to take some pretty decent photos.
Spizza isn't really expensive..One LArge Pizza, and a plate of calamari, that's below $20 per person, and it's pretty filling. They dun serve water though, so u either wait it out, or buy one.
Don't get me wrong, it was good, just that it was too much.
Spizza gives names in alphabetical order for all their pizzas, this one is called Victoria....she's served with mozzarella cheese, fresh Shitake and Button musrooms and a good helping of chicken sausages with chilli....NICE.
Anyway Sunday after work, I went back to finish up on my essay in school.
Yes I go back to school on sundays, call me a geek, I just don't like to bring work home...lol.
Anyways I bumped into Jonas and got from him this really interesting snack.
I remember when I had packet hotdogs in china, they had this weird taste, it wasn't nice....but it wasn't NOT nice. It was...er...interesting...I was hungry anyway so I took one to try.
Haha...yeah anyways it's getting late
The clock just struck 1!!!
I better go sleep. You guys have a wonderful week ahead, and don't forget, KINXIE-LAND!
Ha...I love advertising. =)
Night ppl.
Andrew
