Cup Corn anyone???

I've always loved cup corn since I was er.........like.....13? Maybe younger...but that's the oldest I can recall me actually buying a cup of corn by myself...lol
The thing with cup corn is this:

1. It has to be sweet, not the bland types, i mean, the really good ones, their normally found in frozen packets of corn kernel where u steam them.

2. The butter has got to be right.....no high grade "marigold" or "Lupark" margarine or butter spread. Good ol PLANTAS margarine will do the trick.

3. The salt has to be just right, a pinch will do, no more no less.

4. It must be eaten immediately after prepared..any longer, and it'll turn cold and then you'll just have a miserable cup of yellow pebbles.

A nyhooo....this(k...last week) week was pretty good if you wanna sum it up.

The down side? I quit my job at Black Angus. Had to take a break, stress was getting to me, at least thats what I think, cause u dun feel it, but when u work, the signs are pretty obvious.

Most of which involves me taking orders for 1 thing and writing a different order on my ordering sheet.

YEP......subconsciously distracted with sth? Perhaps. But after 2 plus months of performing really badly I figured I'd rather leave than pretend nth's wrong.hey sth's wrong and I'm sure everyone else notices...haha. So yeah know when to quit while you still can ya? Maybe when I get my sch work sorted out and relief this aching vibe in my head I'll get back to Black Angus again.
OH! Remember the wonton stall I told you about that's near my house? That's the one in the picture, notices behind it's a bunch of terrace and semi-detached houses. That's all that surrounds this little coffee shop, away from most people, yet it's one of the little delights this area has to offer, serving up REALLY GOOD wonton noodles that don't use the black sauce we see most places do these days, but char siew sauce instead, giving it a reddish glow.
I'm SERIOUSLY beginning to love the color reproduction of my K850 phone, look at it!!! even I'm drooling again!

I miss it so much, I went back on Monday and Wednesday, which was their last day of operation and I sat down to enjoy their noodles at 8:30am...YEP, really early huh? lol. I had to before I went to work...but it was time well spent indeed. I'm really gonna miss it =(

By the way, in UNLV, we've always had a snack bar, but not much snacks to offer. Rebel 1 Jaime is incharge of the snack bar(She's incharge of the who student lounge actually) and recently she packed the bar with a EXCELLENT range of snacks to munch at while digging into textbooks after class....One particular item caught my eye.
SEAWEED!!!!

And not just any kind, Korean!!!!! Despite my not really enjoying Korean Dramas, have no knowledge about their actors and actresses, Korean Seaweed? YUM!

Unlike the thai ones u get that come zip-lock ready, these are dried and not deep fried. how can u tell? The fried ones have little bubbles all over the surface of the seaweed while the dried one has a smooth silky layer.

I'm not saying I dislike the deep fried one...I like them all, just that for 2 small packets 50cents while outside pricing will kill u, this is great!

Tuesday.

We went "shopping" for our purchasing project, having to buy furniture and crockery for a hotel we were supposed to build.

We had lunch at the concourse shopping mall.
word of advice, DON'T GO THERE.

Sadly, the food is terrible or "so-so"...and there wasn't much things to choose from as well.
I had this pork cutlet and noodle set which wasn't really good.......k so I'm particular about noodles like I mentioned, but really.......plain white drenched noodles with some brown jelly-like sauce? er.......no thanks.

The pork cutlet was good, but the whole package just ruined everything =(
We did treat outselves to some better food later one when we were at Temple Street getting supplies for the kitchen we were supposed to make.

HOTDOGS!
Down at the german stall which sells sausages for a dollar each, AWESOME!
He's expanded the stall by the way, and I do recommend when u go grab a bite, get an onion roll to accompany your sausage, you won't regret!!!

*Picture above, Delphine giving the unglamorous "si mi dai ji?" stare when I took the photo...haha! She's fine la, she's the "anything anything" kind of girl in our class*

Oh...yeah, and er, Thursday was Lorraine's Birthday! thursday I think....well anyway that's when we celebrated it...lol!
It was supposed to be a surprise but she sorta saw it coming when she caught us bringing the cake down from the escalator to the classroom, at least her effort to look shocked and awed was convincing enough don't you think?...haha.
Friday! The guys went down to Zouk to party and get our minds of STUDYING!!!!
We had two new comers join us that night! Denise and Sophie! Denise's the one in the group picture, 2nd from the right. Sophie's the one in purple in the picture on top. She's married and her husband's pretty strict on her going out....I think shes only 23 and she say she always feels so old with her lifestyle, not that she doesn't love her husband, she does, she just wanna have fun that's all, luckily she had her close buddy Sarah ard to keep her company...and Chestine who's face lurks behind their picture...hm...
Speaking of husbands, Jenny's husband came down with his group of friends to zouk as well and joined as afterwards.

I did mentioned before he's really dashing yeah??? For a straight guy to say another man is handsome, honestly, he is really handsome.....well...maybe not entirely the looks, but the way he carries himself. One look and you'd know why Jenny married early...haha...what a catch. OH and congrats to them on their 6th year anniversary some time last week I think, yeah!

Saturday was terrible.I got home at 5, took a shower at 6 only to have my dad think I just woke up and asked if I needed a lift out....lol....I slept for 4 hrs and couldn't sleep anymore.....stupid bio-alarm not willing to cooperate. =(

As usual I went out to chill with the yoyo crew for awhile at vivo city. CHECK OUT THE PRICE FOR ORGANIC MILK AT GIANT!
who pays 9 bucks for milk??? 9 BUCKS!! I'd rather take my chances on $2.60 HL milk...9 bucks of organic milk surely isn't gonna give me bones of steel that'll save me if i get run over by a car now would it? *touch wood*

Anyway I'm gonna end here, it's been an hr and I gotta be in school soon, there's no class today but the purchasing project needs to be finished so might as well.

You guys takecare now.

Cheers!

Andrew
