Since it was the long weekend, some of the runners decided it would be nice to head into JB for food and massage rather than hang in Singapore like we always do, so we got our things and went over around noon, getting stuck at the checkpoint for a good hour plus before finally finding our way across.
It was my first time going to a cafe in JB, the scene there has been growing quite a bit and hence we dropped by at Bev C, one of the favorites, to take a look. I wasn't feeling like having coffee that day so I opted for Iced Lemon Tea instead.
The cubes of the iced drinks came flavored with whatever you were having already, so as to keep the drink consistent even when the ice had melted.
Their croissant was pretty good too, the ham wasn't the best around, but it went well with the crispy outer layer of the bread, plus the touch of honey drizzled on the top made it that more exciting to tuck into.
We also went visiting to a cafe with a lot of old Chinese artifacts, great for photo taking if you ask me.
After the massage, we headed off for seafood at a restaurant where the folks enjoyed going. We ordered quite a lot for just 4 people, but the bill came up to less than S$30 per head...not bad!
Overall a short but good trip, much needed out-of-town journey.
