KL Eat Fest 2014 - Day 2

The initial plan for day two was to get up in the morning, put on my running tights and singlet, and hit the road for a LSD to start the day.

That didn't happen.

Anyway after everyone was up, it was a quick chill out at the Sauna and Steam Room at the Ritz before heading out to find another char siew joint that was closer to KL which we hoped could provide us with the same shiokness Meng Kee had without having to travel so far.

Toast and Roast was a joint that's more popular on social media, and have lots of raving reviews especially for its char siew, as well as its Hakka Noodles.

The ride there was significantly nearer too and took us about 10-15 minutes from the hotel to reach.

When we arrived, we found out to our horror that they didn't have much left, but after talking to the staff, we managed to get a hold of the last 500grams.

Verdict? This is a winner! I can safely say despite being slightly different in taste, both are good enough that I think I can ditch Meng Kee with less heart pain that I did previously.

The Hakka noodles were also FANTASTIC, lots of pork lard to add texture and taste (and fats) to the dish, shiok!

Cause the Christmas tree balls at Pavilion were getting old and worn out, we couldn't find any shiny ones and made do with a mirror by the street instead, same same but different, still it got the job done. =)

Dinner was just Colin, Alron and I at Chinatown where we went to check out a wonton stall that is supposedly famous.

Admittedly I love the noodles, but I cannot understand what makes this good, I kinda prefer the one opposite the YY38 hotel, and suddenly I'm regretting not having eaten then now =P

The next stop was back at the claypot Bee Tai Bak stall behind Chinatown. I really like this stall for both its clay pot bee tai bak as well as its pork lard noodles...crispy fried pork belly served on a bed of twangy noodles..what's not to like?!?!?!

Dinner was followed by...MORE DINNER at Wong Ah Wah again, this tme with Hannee accompanying us as well as Robin and Krishna, no pictures though, food was the same awesome stuff we had the night before.

So today ended a lot earlier, partly cause we wanted to get some time to exercise the next morning after missing it on the second day.

So far I'm loving the eat fest at the various places we've been, couldn't wait for day 3!
