Yesterday's evening was a pretty fun one, starting with a trip to Brawn and Brains at Guillemard Road where Eve works (she recently left Warner Music) to check out the place and show some support.
It was my first time here and cause the weather was hot, I decided for a cold beverage instead of something hot. Love the environment, small but nice!
The main agenda today was to visit Char, which the Tier have talked about, as well as the runners who have tried it too. Verdict for me is that the Char Siew was really good, it's again, different from Meng Kee in KL or West Villa in Hong Kong, but very very awesome. The roasted pork reminded me of the one in KL as well, it was crispy on the top, soft fats in the middle that melt in your mouth, and a decent tender piece of lean meat at the bottom. In general I don't eat roasted pork belly but in a restaurant like this, yes...yes I would.
Overall a wonderful evening, ending off with watching Kenshin (Samurai X). I loved it! It's not fantastic but if you're coming from the anime or comic which I did as a teenager, the movie follows the plot closely, and the characters are recognizable, think the general audience may be clueless though, it's a show that probably requires a bit of fan knowledge before you catch it.
