NB Scape to Sports Hub

Since NB Scape runs have now ended and the NB Sports Hub will not be home to the new runs supposedly on Thursday, Edmund had arranged for a symbolic run from Scape to the Sports Hub as a way to usher in a new chapter for the running club.

Prior to this, he had approached me to create a photo collage as a gift for the runners both attending and others who couldn't make it that day.

It took a bit of editing but I was glad with the completed work and got down to purchasing the necessary items. Thank goodness I didn't have to slot the photos in myself, 100 pieces...yikes!

On Saturday itself, we had a fairly huge turnout despite the rain. Though the plan was to start at 9, we ended up leaving the place at about 9:30 after a warm up session at the court below.

The initial plan was just to take warm up photos followed by a few shots of the initial start off, but then Raymond from Running Department who had joined us that morning had asked if I was going to do intervals throughout the run, and it got me wondering "damn maybe I should try ah".

I shouldn't have...it was torturous >.<

Thank goodness I could manage at least the first 5km running back and forth, doing a total of just 3 intervals starting from the back of the group to the front to snap pictures.

At the first stop at Esplanade, a few snaps were taken, including a shot of those wearing the old NB tops that were given to us awhile back. It was also a good time for some familiar faces to catch up and talk since they haven't met up in awhile.

The next stop was to the Helix Bridge, we had to make a quick detour at first due to NDP, but after a 10 minute delay, we found ourselves just outside Gardens By The Bay, taking one photo at the steps of the Helix Bridge before taking off.

The final location where I had to leave was at the Marina Barrage. By then we had covered about 8+km but due to the pace, it was already 1 hr 15 minutes and I had to leave for AP. So after one last photo, I bid the guys farewell.

Though I didn't manage to stay throughout the run, it was definitely a fun experience this morning, heard from Edmund that the guys made it safely to the Sports Hub and were served drinks before doing a few core exercises and calling it a day. The gifts were a pleasant surprise and I think everyone enjoyed themselves today.

I guess that's the end of Scape runs for now, let's hope traveling to the Stadium will not be that tough a journey every Thursday. O.o
