Met up with some of the NB Runners this afternoon after the run to check out a new coffee joint called Whale & Cloud. It's a hole in the wall behind an office space in Niven Road that serves a pretty decent brew. Coffee is charged at tip basis so pay whatever you like. The space is small so when we first got there, we didn't get any seats, but as the time passed we managed to get some space to chill.
Though you are only offered Black or White, the coffee's pretty decent, I'm not the caffeine expert here but Jasmine approved, so I guess it's good yeah?
Lunch came slightly later, when we made our way to Cups N Canvas which was nearby as well. It's a cafe that has art classes as well, and while the rest had coffee (I already had 2 servings at Whale & Cloud before passing a $12 tip), I decided to have lunch.
On the menu was an item called "Chili Crab Pasta"...the last time I had a similar named dish was quite a long time back at this italian restaurant near Novena when I was about 12 years of age.
I have to say this isn't similar, but still mighty awesome, I even asked for the extra spicy version which came with cut chili padi...and gosh it was SPICY. I was in tears, and perspiring throughout, Kee Wee and Eve took a bite and agreed it was a pretty hot mix. Nonetheless with enough effort, I managed to finish the whole thing.
I'm not sure about the coffee, but the pasta was worth trying for sure, maybe I'll drop by again next time for a caffeine fix instead.
