Run For Cover 2014

Went down to Taka today to check out the Run For Cover event that was being held at the place. Eve had asked for supporters to go check out the run and hence I did. What we didn't expect was the amount of participants, trying to get a slot on the open treadmills was quite difficult!

Frankly the weather was extremely terrible. Hot and humid, a lot hotter than your usual afternoon. I did two sets on the treadmill only because I only managed to do 5km in the first set cause 1. the weather sucked and 2. I completely forgotten about my timing and set a pretty fast pace which got me exhausted in no time.

I did a second set later that evening, sharing the treadmill with Eve and clocked another 5km out of the total 9.44 shared by both of us.

I also had the opportunity to meet and chat with some of the runners from Running Department, I had only known Sin Ling and Eric previously but got introduced by Sin Ling to some of the other runners who were there. Admittedly I am terrible with first impressions and likely forgotten most of them apart from a handful of the faces whom I've seen before back in MR25.

Overall the event seemed pretty well organized. Despite the heat, the volunteers were plenty, the entertainment was well managed, and apart from the slight hiccup with results during the early stages, the matter was quickly resolved in no time.

The run is currently still on as we speak, too bad I can't hang all the way, got work tomorrow, but it was definitely great getting to go down and say hi to familiar faces and meet new people, I also earned myself a free cup of coffee I'm waiting to collect *grin*.
