Hello.: A Final Run @ Scape, a Superheroes Meet, and a Birthday Surprise

What a long evening, where do I even start?

Today marks the final run at New Balance Scape. It's been a wonderful 3 years running with some of the most positive people I've met since I decided to join the running club. The NB Runners have been some what of a home to me, one I've truly come to cherish and am proud to be part of.

As we transit from Scape to our new location at the Singapore Sports Hub, many came down for one final run at a place they once called home. Both old and new runners took the time off to do one last lap along the Singapore River before we officially close Thursdays runs as Scape.

Not only were we greeted with runners old and new, the Novena guys got dressed up for the occasion, a star studded cast of Superheroes, 3 from Marvel and 1 from DC.

I think it was pretty cool having them come dressed like that...of course, many took the opportunity to take photos with them after the run as well.

After the official photos, some of the "pioneer" batch stayed back to fool around for a bit, it's been awhile since we had Ling, Neo and May join us for a run on Thursday, and it sure was good to see them again.

After the run and dinner, there was one last thing left. Serene had been planning a birthday surprise for Derek for quite some time now. Being clueless about GPS watches, she did quite a bit of asking around and finally settled on a Sunto for Derek's birthday surprise. So as per her request, a bunch of us stayed back at Costa Coffee and waited for Derek to end work, where he was presented with the gift as well as a hand made birthday booklet which Serene had done up for him.
