Impromptu Photo Session @ The Bay

I had planned to meet the NB Runners for a movie around 4pm on Sunday and it went ahead as planned, but along the way, Colin had also suggested a photoshoot around MBS to try and grab a sunset shot of the bay.

Since I wanted to give that a try, I brought my gear along, and after the movie, I headed down to find them for a quick photo-op. iLight was happening that day as well so perhaps a shot or two of the displays might be nice.

Unfortunately the weather and sky was terrible, and as a result, we had to skip photographing the sunset and move on to other things. Al was playing with OCF and I had initially wanted to have a go at it as well but ended up trying to grab a spot for a sunset shot (which didn't happen)

While Colin was also trying to take shots of MBS, I decided to mess around with the telezoon while the sun slowly set, taking shots of Al and Calvin while Sharon models by the river.

As it got darker, it was almost shooting time. While waiting for the iLight show on the Arts Science Museum, I went ahead and fool around with the camera a bit and got the photo below. It's alright, I wished there were more light to capture at the top right corner, then perhaps I'd have something I'd like to submit to the Lines assignment that was different.

After getting the panorama I wanted, we moved on and had dinner at MBS, after which while heading back, we made our way past the Floating Platform once more, and stopped to take a photo of the city skyline.

I can't tell which two photos below I like better. The one above has a faster motion blur of the clouds above, while the bottom set had a more interesting spread of clouds which I also like...guess I'll share both.

I did one shot with Beatrice the Brontosaurus by the tree before we wrapped up, and tried a shot of Sharon with Beatrice. It's not ideal (her face was blurred, I'm still trying to wrap my head around factoring subjects in long exposure), but I guess it'll do for now.
