25mm Zoom & 25mm Prime Comparison

Did a quick test, didn't explore all apertures.

All photos set to f5. First image at iso 1,250, while the rest were at 1,000.

Can you tell which is from the zoom lens and which is from the prime?

Yep! Second set is with the zoom. They are both very close in quality at the same aperture.

I later found out on dpreview that the telezoom's range performs at optimum edge to edge sharpness at the 20-45mm range, so I expect quality to water down after that mark, so long as my extreme focal ranges do not require sharp edges I should be safe, just it won't be a fast lens given its aperture.
